3 AM is a good time for about 20 guys to pull in and start pounding on the door... The butt end of a mag light on the door has a distinctive sound.

You got the drivers name and addy? Case solved!!! I like the idea of 20 or so in full gear showing up at his door at 3 am. "Just give us his name, and we'll go easy on you."

Someone stole someone else's helmet, while it was in their possesion? F that. At least you didn't get hurt.

Riding tip #1: NEVER hang out at red lights in the big, bad city.

Mutherfuckers creeping up on you? Just roll away next time. Don't go getting all frantic, just move on. Always check your surroundings before coming to a stop, especially at night. Keep the bike in gear and ready to hit the boost. Never, ever stop and put your bike into neutral. If you do stop, always leave enough room around you to allow you an escape route.

I used to ride into work for 3:30 am. All sorts for pieces of shit hanging out, just waiting to jack you. I gave up riding my sportbike to work and started taking the KLR instead.

Helmets protect your identity. It's very hard to ID someone if they have a Mirror shield with some gauntlet style gloves.

The Problem was the guy took his key out so he didn't get a chance to Roll off.. Alex was on to something good with his idea about securing the key to the bike, What those Supa Smart Jap Bike Scientist guys should have come up with is a way for the key to be locked in the Ignition when it's in gear, like in a Car, you can't pull the key unless it's in park..

Someone could act like they're crossing the street and just knock you over. Happens. That's why I don't hang out at lights. Hell, I don't hang out at lights while I'm in the cage sometimes.

Joe,

You need to call all of the members on the Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha designing teams and tell them. You could prolly make some money off it

newer Harleys don't use ignition key. it has a key lock for the push start button. there's no key to pull. i like the idea.

If they have the plate number and a witness I don't see what the hold up could be!?!

I think i would be camping out at the Lowell PD h/q everyday till it got resolved. WTF! This doesn't say much for their department.

I've said this before don't rely on someone else to do the things you can do yourself. The cops are not going to do anything. I'm in for the kicking the front door in idea. You could always drop a rag out of his gas cap.

Anytime. I was really pissed for this kid. I hate that bully shit. This whole story has bully shit written all over it. I think that kid just wanted his helmet and that was it. His friends in the car probably dared him to do it. Stolen helmet my ass he wanted that Helmet. Little prick needs a slap.

sorry to hear dude.

I agree with steve, they could've just took guy bike, already got the key.

did you tell the cops you know the guy, his name and address, and ready to press charges.

for us (other riders) here, can you post the location (street intersection, town, zip) time and date, this guy's name and their car. I'm sure I'll want to avoid that area.
