reminder to MA riders: inspection stickers expire 5/31/07

Just a friendly reminder to get your bike re-inspected before your current inspection sticker expires.

Time to head to Cycles 128 and hope they don't care about the slip on...

Parkway cycles doesn't care about slip-on's, same with Riverside Motorsports. Both are closer to you (assuming you do live in e.boston).

If you have something thats questionable, lemme know i work at Riverside so if needed i can help you out.

I went to this place off hartford Ave in Mendon. (Charlesview Rd) The guy just strolled over and asked if everything was working. And I said yes. That was it. He walked around the bike. Never asked me to turn anything on and didn't even have a setup to check headlight alignment.

It's a wonder this guy even has an inspection license from the state.

aftermarket blinker? no dot markings on the lens? FAIL

seriously though inspections are for people that think the choke is for when it's cold. < outside, as in air temp.

Chuck, there's a place in Blackstone that does it. Mostly cruiser/HD place where they hang out and drink beers, but they also do inspections. Seems like a good group of folks though.

Looked at my bike checked a few things and then gave me a sticker. Warned me that cops were pulling guys over for tinted windscreens. (I guess someone was their earlier in the week w/ a tinted screen). Plus I'm Asian, so I better be super careful!

Why? Tinted windscreens aren't illegal in MA. Mine's dark smoke.

Now tinted helmet visors is a different story if you use one at night.

Because the cops in Blackstone have nothing better to do?

The guy said, "It's not illegal, and I wouldn't not give you a sticker, but I thought I'd let you know."

I haven't talked to any of the local Leos yet, but I'm a white 40something, so I'd probably have less issues with 'em.

I have stock exhaust, directionals, license plate mount and mirrors. Know of any shops that'll let it slide?

Wow. I can't believe how many of you guys are getting a hard time with stickers. Ive been to Parkway in Everette, Riverside in Somerville this last time. Half the time they just look at it and put the sticker on.

I have a slip-on, integrated tail light, no plate light. Just order the $9 cheapo directionals from ebay, someone told me they have to be 14" apart. Probably will take a chance on the plate light.

maybe I'll take the ride down to riverside, then.

why not performance cycles?

I have a slip-on and cheapo non-DOT "side marker" lights as turn signals, and the big guy passed me.

you think I should, its like 10 mins from my house.

I took it there once for some other questions, (the small guy I think) ask what happened to my directionals. I've just said oh its the integrated unit. he made some face and walk away.

what happen if you don't pass? can you still ride (legally) home to do the fix?

Who cares your 10 min from there. I'm sure you'll make it home without getting pulled over. Remember how many cops we drove by on that ride last week. You didn't get pulled over then. Besides i'm sure you'll pass.

No, they call the squid police and they ride off with your bike in a high-ass wheelie.

They probably give you a rejection, but you still get to ride it home.
