All right so Im screwed without a damn title right now, can't insure can't register.

The bill of sales we wrote up for the bike says once he recieves the title from the suzuki creditor he will mail it to me.

Anyone know of anyway around having to wait the time for the title to come in. The previous owner fully paid off the bike today and told me that they said "IT COULD" take up to 30days to process. So the only thing holdng me back from getting this bike on the road is the fact that we have to wait for him to get the title then sign it over and mail it to me.

Anyone know of a way if at all possible the previous owner with his name on title could call and have they put my name on the title instead of waiting for all this processing?

Or even if theres anyway I could get some sort of temporary thing just so I can ride this bike. I looked all over the RMV website but really couldn't find anything.

If anyone knows of a way to speed up the process of getting the title or even just something temporary while I wait for the title and info would be great. (I've only had the bike a day and I just want it all set)

Thanks
-Murph

Yes,

Get an abstract from the title holding state to move forward.

Just did it in both NY & VT this week.

Cost 15 bucks and postive I.D. at the counter. think 20 in Vt + only available Montpelier

Good luck.

sorry to hear. The same thing happened to me when I bought mine. It took about a month to get it. It was torture!

But it might go quicker - just have the guy keep calling.

Mystic: 03 SV650s copper color

Yea but I have an old bill where I can call the 1-800# and check on the bill payment status and such. I talked to the previous owner today and he said he put the money in the bank and paid so I'm guessing with bank clearing and all the payment should be down to $0 by monday or Tuesday.

But ya looks like ima hafta wait, dissappointed on that part, but amped on the deal I got I think the bikes in very good shape anyways, and think I got it for a decent price.

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE except when it takes a few week off your first year of riding

Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles

some one take a look at this, Im not to familiar with all these terms but if you read this, say the previous owner could some call and change the title and replace my anme and such with his, if infact he could do that, I think this would work??????

I wonder if you could call the title holding company and have them "rush" deliver the title to you to expedite the process and so you can start riding that beautiful bike?!?

Relax dude. Mother nature is keeping all of us from riding right now. Use the time to read a couple good books

I'm as impatient as it gets with that stuff, hence why i never buy anything w/out a title "in-hand" ever.

Do yourself a huge favor and put the bike in a place so you won't think of it as much. If you leave it out in the open, one of these day's you'll just "take it around the block" and BAM boys in blue will get ya. Like Cheese said now is a great time to do some educational reading on riding.

Not much you can do....have the seller overnight you the title instead of regular mail. But in terms of registering it, you need the title.

I agree with duey-- don't take the bike out. Trust me, I've been there. Before you get tempted, get the bike out of sight and covered (no pun intended) Don't even think about taking the bike for a little spin in the neighborhood; especially after a couple of cold ones, or whatever... wait until everything is right... then go. Trust me, it's not worth it; and I can give you a piece of my zx1000 fairing to prove it.

I hope for your sake the guy you bought the bike from is a honest person...
The proper way to buy a bike from someone where a creditor is holding the title is for the buyer to make the check out directly to the creditor for the payoff amount. Not only is it safer, it'll save some time and you'll end up with the title a week or 2 sooner

Dude you need to chill, from everything you posted that this guy gave you for information he is not trying to screw you. It takes time to get a title back into your posession but you should have it within a week or two.

Plus, look at the c/l pictures. It's obvious the guy has some money, nice boat and new burban in the driveway. I wouldn't worry a bit. I hear ya, i know it's annoying as hell but it'll ALL be worth it.

It doesn't SOUND like he's trying to tank ya. If I were you I'd walk into your local RMV with the old registration (do you hafta sign that over in Mass?) and play stupid. It just may work...

I recently got a XR650 titled AND registered for street use without filling out anything other than a title app. Didn't have ANY of the forms or paperwork you're allegedly supposed to have. Just walked in and played stupid. Which in my case isn't all that much of a stretch...

You may at least be able to get it regi'd and ride the damn thing...

Oh, R7's right. Last time I bought a bike without a title in hand I met the dude at the bank where he had the lein. Sat down with wunna the banker chicks there and explained to her what we were doing. *I* paid the loan off, then they released the lein and applied for the title transfer. Then I wrote the dude a check for the balance of what we agreed on for a selling price. I got a copy of the title transfer app so I could register it. Badda-bing...

Then again, I guess that's a moot point now eh?

You have a better chance of getting a meeting with the President of the US, then getting the Mass RMV to bend any rules, I had to spend an hour there recently waiting to re-reg my buddy's bike, I sat outside, as it was a great day, I never seen so many angry, pissed off people come outa one place..
