Trackday photos from 5/23/07Great pics man nice job!!!!!!! I must say though, no love for the fat guy on the #300 motard? Just kidding, that's me on the #300 motard and I didn't find any shots of me in there, maybe next time. You got quite a few of my friend Dan though, bright green ZX12, so I will let him know. Thanks for taking your time and coming up and taking shots. I am sure that I am not the only one that appreciates it. Joel |

Trackday photos from 5/23/07Thanks guys for all the comments. I have just as good of a time snapping pics as you guys on the track. June 7th works for me. Btw there was an english chap there on a red Honda vfr, if anyone knows him can you point him to the pics as I don't think he is a member of nesr. |

Trackday photos from 5/23/07I think I have an inner ear problem. I see some of you guys with your heads way down low and I just can't seem to do that. It completely throws off my balance and feel for the bike. In all the photos, even if my knee is on the ground, my head has to stay level like below. Oh well... ![]() IMG_8105.jpg - Image - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting HMMM.... this is how I feel though. IMG_8047.jpg - Image - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting :-) |

Trackday photos from 5/23/07Slightly more lean angle... Owens Racing Photos Oh well... got 8 more track days to try and hang off more... see if it helps. As we always say... you can ALWAYS learn more. I'm going to spend some time in the YELLOW group next track day and do an entire session with the new, lower body position. I won't worry about speed, just body position... see if I can get used to it. If only I could find a good instructor to help me out. |

The head position was one of the main things that i was working on this past trackday. It's really a commitment thing i think. The best place to work on it is the longer turns. The bowl is great because it's long and smooth and no pavement transitions to worry about, which is what makes me hesitate a little from fully commiting my body and head. Enter the turn with your normal body position and when you're confident you're on your line just let your ear go toward the ground. It seems to relax your shoulders and neck. It's a fun feeling when you're really force your ear toward the ground and the bike rides much smoother. I've had the rear spin up where I would normally get tossed and at that full commitment it just regained traction smoothly and kept going. ![]() ![]() |

Trackday photos from 5/23/07I tell you I'm not getting down like you and Tony. Especially in the bowl. I tense up and brace myself for the shock bottoming out. funny how when you have an off, your body remembers it more than your mind. I'll have to unlearn this reflex before it bites me in the ass. Think its time to get stiffer springs in the front. |

Trackday photos from 5/23/07Great post Jay! That really sums up what I've found as well. It's all about relaxing the neck/shoulders/arms and commiting to the turn. How can your arms be relaxed when your neck and shoulders aren't? The bowl and 9 are the places to practice. Tip it in, crack the throttle, then try to let your head and shoulders just fall to the inside. It's an incredible feeling when you get it, and like you said, it puts you so much more in touch with the bike that you can handle slides and things with ittle or no drama. You should feel a bit like a bobble head!!! It's the only way I can ride at the limit for long. Quote:
