So I did it...layed her down

at an intersection at the top of a hill, around a corner, laiden with trees, shrubs etc. I stopped and started power walking to where I could see oncoming traffic, which would be fairly far into the road so I would rely mostly on hearing a car (I live in the boonies). So I'm close to where I can see and take off...bike stalls. Awesome. Won't start. I can't really touch the road with my feet b/c of the hill so the brakes didnt do much, can't start the bike to hurry and get the power back. So I leaned over, touched my foot to the ground and put the bike down The one thing they DON'T teach you at the MSF course is how to pick a damn bike up that weighs 5x the amount of yourself with traffic watching from behind. So I muscled it back up, started the 2-3 third time I tried, got it higher on the hill, jumped on, started power walking it....stalls. Yes, the clutch IS IN for all you smart asses that were going to ask... I'm high enough on the hill now where I can touch the road so it finally started and I could take off.

Barely any scratches, I think they can just be buffed out. The carb cover has a bit more. The worst blow was to my ego...embarrassed

Why the hell was it stalling? I'm just going to bring it to a tech and do everything to it.

I'm sure we all know the feeling. sucks...

I've laid mine down right in the middle of Union Square in Somerville leaving Riverside Motor Sports during rush hour. Same thing... coming down a curb cut and a guy in front short stopped forcing me to brake hard right when the middle of my bike was in the valley of the curb cut and road crown... tip, tip, tip, down... My foot kept it from getting scratched !

been there, done that.... more than once. Sucks, but it happens to the best of us. The good parts are 1 - it's a learning experience & 2 - it's pretty tough to get hurt at 0mph.

We'll show you how to pick a bike up at the track.

When you're stopped on a hill put your left foot on the ground leave your right on the peg and use it to hold the rear brake so you don't roll back. The bike has an idle that is probably adjusted wrong. If you have a screw driver I can tell you how to fix it in 30 seconds. I put my bike down like that the first weekend I had it while I was backing it into a parking spot.

We've all been there. I've dropped my old bike at least twice trying to move it around in my back driveway which is more a of dirt trail.

When I did my MSF they taught us how to pick up a bike. Here's how to do it. MMSC - Safety Tips

Hey be happy you got it up...you muscle bound hewoman.

Don't sweat it, it will probably happen again. You didn't get hurt and the bikes only scratched. No Problem.

I know this one guy, with an RC51...at a gas station he was moving it and it fell on its right side when I was ...err I mean the dumbass was on the left side. It went over. Pretty much sucked and hurt the ego more than anything. So at least you are okay and the damage isnt too bad.

If she can pick up her 600lb beemer, you can pick up yours:

Pink Ribbon Rides

The first time I dropped my SV, I made the guys let me pick it up like this, to test it out. It really works, and you have no clue that you're lifting 300+lbs.

I almost fell over at Motomarket last night... Now that would have been funny... Still getting used to my subframe being jacked up a little bit higher, then today moving my bike around my yard after changing oil and some Maint. I almost let it go over again.. WTF this is not good, I never even come close to doing stupid shit like this normally.... If I drop my bike I'll cry.. It's too pretty..

i dropped my bike the other day at TTD. First session of the day, leaving the garage. The bike was bogging on me and when i gave it some throttle it stalled on me, causing me to slide forward and smash the family jewels and down she went....ever so slowly. Only thing damaged was the very end of my brake lever, so now its a semi-short lever and a VERY bruised ego....considering 2 of the female control riders ran over to help me pick it back up lol.
