Squid of the Day

I meant to post this yesterday, but didn't get around to it.

Squid of the Day
Bike: 2006 GSX-600 (saw that one coming, didn't you?)
Helmet: chromed-out little dom cap.
Jacket: green textile Kawi
Gloves: none
Pants: jean shorts
Boots: low-top Nike's. No socks.
Location: Poseing on Landsdown St.

Good thing he had that jacket on. Otherwise he could really get hurt in the event of a crash.

I went down there one night for the nightlife. It was all Ruff Ryders wanna be's. On top of that the whole street was filled with "Thugish" people. Lansdown has gotten really ghetto in the last 3-5 years.

Ya, Lansdown is starting to get pretty sketchy.

I was at Lansdown last friday. I parked in that upper parking garage and just as I got out, some 300 lb guy who was clearly wasted and not wearing any shirt, comes over and says "hey don't freak out but there is a party over in that car" as he points to some random car with nobody in it. Don't freak out. Ya Okay! As he starts to lean on my mom's BMW.

Then after I got him off the car and we start to leave he gets on he knees in a puddle and is begging us to help him. Help him with what, I'm not sure.

So we are going down the stairs of the parking garage and he is trying to follow us so we start walking a little quicker, we get to the street and one of my friends says "dude! that guy just fell down the stairs!!!" So I run back and sure enough there he is lifting himself up from the middle of the stairs rubbing his jaw.

After that we flagged down two cops and told them about the weird guy. He clearly needed some help before he killed himself.

When I see someone wearing jean shorts and Nikes, I immediately dig for my phone (I have a cellular phone so it's usally in my pocket) and call my state representative's office. I have the number on "speed dial" so if I hold down the number eight (8) for 4 seconds it will automatically dial the number for me. It's great.

kawi jacket, suzuki (can of tuna nonetheless) bike, and chrome dome brain bucket? awesome

no surprises there though...lansdowne st. is a funny place...bars and clubs exist, and the owners are BANKING, but the places are not all that great and the clientele it attracts is pretty awful. But you can't really expect full leathers/boots/gloves and a track-ready ex500 trailered behind a civic when you go there...take it with a grain of salt

instead, just go w' your good friends, to a more upscale club (or even a place that isn't upscale, but attracts a different clientele, like "the liquor store") and if you enjoy nightlife, you'll probably have a better time

and chrisnofunny has got a good thing going too

Pfft. Lansdowne is same as it ever was. I spent many a night down there from 1997-2003 either on my bike(cycle) or bike(motor). Street fights, topless chicks, drugs, you name it and I sat there with it. The motorcycle crowd would ebb and flow depending on the weekend but one constant was always the same, posers. I didn't mind thou as I lived in the city and I'd rather talk bikes with squids than not talk bikes at all. Sides, baiting them into Storrow Drive runs at 1am was always kickass.

Ghetto now? Right. I've stood on Lansdowne and see a guy shot not 20' away from me. That was a fun night, watching someone bleed to death on the sidewalk.

Man yall would crap your pants if you saw some of the idiots here in Florida wear! Half the bike are streched and lowered, can't even look at em cuz you'll hurt your eyes from all the chrome and NEVER ANY REMOTE PEICE OF GEAR. But hey it's there choice I'm not the one to tell them they should wear the stuff. Only suggest.

Today I saw a guy on a DR-Z400SM with shorts, sneakers, wife beater, and one of those cruiser-type skull caps. Interestingly enough he was with a another squid on a cbr 600 and they were weaving in and out of traffic and ran a red light after they came to a complete stop. Go figure
