Another FZ6 of course! The bike was a dream, and the crash was in no way due to it, I just made a stupid mistake.

Too bad I would have finished break-in by the end of the day, now I have to baby another bike for 1,000 miles.

I had to claim with Nationwide a few years back. They actually covered my gear if I remember right.

Hah, that's the fiance's stuffed kitty, I'd be shot if I moved it from the bed. She's slowly coming to terms with the fact that I would've hopped right back on a bike yesterday if I had the chance, she just thinks I'm crazy for having that attitude

yeah i should have left the crash out of my story to the wife. she cried..what girl. i didn't help when i said gene didn't even cry. but i did leave out the cops from the story

you should have left the chin spoiler on if it wasn't damaged. comerce covered my pipe and fairing. but zip for the gear, good thing it was only a shoie and a* jacket and gloves that got trashed and not any thing expensive

what a douchebag cop. I knew they were going to show up and bust balls. That is why some (maybe all) of us ended up heading down the road to the gas station to wait it out. I wrecked like that and it took me 8 years to get back on. Hope to see you get it back mentally and with a new bike soon.

Anyways, remember I said to you that my Son totaled his 2005 Yamaha R6? Well I think your bike & his bike have the same tires on them & he lost it in a corner also. Although for my Son it had rained & stopped 5 hours before he crashed on a on-ramp.

Let me know what the tires are, you might be able to go after them, who knows for sure, but it may be worth the effort.

!
Are you fucking kidding me? He posted why he went down, it was not the tires. I hate sue happy fucks.

Glad the dudes ok.

Come on now, you omitted the conclusion of the investigation:

I am going to do a little research & see if there is anything in common with the FZ6 & the R6 & I will get back to you when I know something for sure.

I did the research: the front tire of your bike is a Bridgestone BT 020 & I am sure so is the rear tire.

My Son's bike had Dunlop D 253's on it. So, no same tire cause crash syndrome, but both brands suck Especially the BT 020's I hated them with a passion & they slipped on the painted lines also!

Careful with whom you decide to ride alongside.

The bridgestones must be the reason I ride so slow on the street and the track and I'm always slipping and sliding out of control and crashing everywhere i go. I'm sure I can't keep up on any group rides with these tires.

A special note to everyone, when you crash don't take responsibility because then you'll have to fix the mistakes you made. Blame something that was out of your control or someone else and then try to get sue happy.

Glad to hear you're OK man, we were strafing VT-100 this weekend as well... love that road...

About the bike, take it for what you will, but I for one am in huge support of this method of "breaking in" your bike. Seems to work the balls for every race motor I've had, and the only street bike I ever bought new.... screw babying it ;-)

How to break in your new motorcycle - the proper way

Good luck, heal fast, keep the rubber side down.

You too? We went across route 2 into NY, up the NY/VT border to 17, and then down 100 to 9 for the trek east. 520 mile day Trying to get in long distance shape for the Nova Scotia trip coming up.

You get the 851 back up and running?

Yea dunny, that's what I was ridin this weekend :-)

Went from Westborough, MA up 116 / 8A / NH 9W, thru VT into NY... Thru the Adirondacks to Plattsburgh, NY where we spent the night.

Next day, down 22, across 17 (well a couple passes on 17 on Sunday before the rain started), then raced to get outta the rain and down 100 the whole way back.

Fun times, 750 ish miles (yeah, on my 851, beyatch)

What's this aboot a Nova trip?

I won't rage on anyone here, I'll just say that the BT020's on the FZ6 were just fine for my style of riding (60% commuting, 40% sport). The only time I ever felt them slip in 900 miles was shooting around a turning semi into a shoulder full of tar snakes on an 85 degree day. The only thing that messed up in my wreck was myself, neither the bike nor the tires can be blamed for going where my actions directed them.

My comments were not directed toward you and I'm glad you made it out of the crash as well as you did.
