Question

do you use 2 fingers or 4?

No thats not what I'm talking about you sick bastards

I use 2 fingers for my brake but have always used 4 fingers on my clutch. I'm trying to train myself to use 2 fingers on the clutch now - I'm not sure if there's a huge benefit to this but I was wondering what you guys/gals do...

To the poll!

Two on both on the track. Usually none on upshifts!

Two on the brakes and two or four on the clutch on the street. (On the street if I have been riding in traffic I usually have to go to 4 fingers. I am a weakling!)

I usually use one finger on the brake lever and 4 on the clutch lever. two on the brakes if it's due to a stupid cager though.

racing: none on upshifting (unless the hawk is being a whore... happens sometimes). 4 on downshifts.

street: depends on my mood, sometimes dont use it for up or downshifts sometimes do, i tend to use 4 fingers if i'm using the clutch.

2 for front brake, whole right foot for rear brake (but not too often needed)
4 for upshift from 1st to 2nd, then clutchless up and on.
4 for downshift all the way.

need to practice to use 2 only clutching and be smooth at the same time.

Four on the clutch. Two on the brake. Though I remember getting yelled at during my MSF for using two fingers to brake. Apparentally my instructer didn't realize that my YZF only needed to fingers to stop on a dime and I had been riding for 3 weeks before jumping on that little 250.

One on the clutch (middle finger... old moto habits die hard).
Four fingers on the clutch doesn't leave much for holding on... never understood why MSF teaches that way... maybe b/c if the clutch isn't adjusted properly it may need to go all the way to the bar to engage?

There are too many jokes that come to mind, I'll just answer your question.

In the few months that I have been riding I have been using 2 on the brake and 2 on the clutch.

I especially like having a couple of fingers on the bars when I'm upshifting onto the highway. When I take off onto I-95 and theres an open lane I will be shifting at about 10k RPM and jumping back on the throttle after the shift. My ZX-11 has some power and sometimes it feels as if it wants to leave me behind.

i paid attention last night and i apparently use my ring and middle on the front brake and all 4 on the clutch. as for racing i dont know. im sure it depends on pressure and what corner its needed. for example. im sure i use all 4 when braking into 3 but prolly only 2 when scrubbing speed for 9

Ever since I upgraded my M/C I've been using one on the brakes. Two on the clutch in the rare event I use it.
