First run in with a cager (Road Rage)

Some one switched into my lane once with out looking so I honked at them as a "hello, I'm here!" The woman driving then flipped me off when I was behind her at a red light. I pulled up next to her car, undid the gas cap, and threw it in the intersection. She didn't get out of the car until I already went through the intersection in fear that I may beat her or something. In the future do something quick, simple, and not permenantly damaging. The gas cap technique is my number one choice for road rage options.

Please step out of the car sir....

Most of the time you HAVE to be a little more tolerant of cagers.
Cagers get upset for a variety of reasons at bikes:
Jealousy #1: If they're stuck in traffic, how dare you get over.
You should remember what it's like being stuck in a car/truck in traffic. It sucks ass. You're in a constant state of pissed off.
Ignorance: Most people have no idea the manueverability of motorcycles.
They think if their car can't do it, it shouldn't be done.
Ego: The vehicle gives even the most powerless, panty wearing cowards the
bravery of Superman. If someone is mentally retarded enough to be effected by this disorder, they're retarded enough to run your ass over.
The fact remains they're bigger and they'll win in a road rage contest.

I'm not saying take a 1/2 full water bottle thrown at you. But in this day and age, the pen is mightier than the sword. You could have called the cops and had him charged with assault on you. A punch to the face heals, a punch to the criminal record, wallet and drivers license lasts so much longer. Sad, but true. This ain't the dark ages anymore.

I know the inner Conan the Barbarian wants to punch through his driver side window and drag his bitch ass through by his gay ass hairdo, but it's just not worth the assault charge. Not to mention punks these days might put a couple .25's in your chest. Weight that against just driving away.

when the douche threw the bottle he fired the first shot. i pretty much would have done the same thing. the problem is you don't know who your dealing with. would they hit you with the car? pull a gun?

i've done the rage thing before, dropped the kick stand at a light, got off the bike and said "lets go mother fucker" dude pussied out and drove off. i'm glad he did.

Bingo I would be thinking the cops are coming, I avoid shit like this if the fuck bag hit me with a water bottle. I'm sure I would be pissed the gas cap thing is funny. I hope I would not get this pissed.

I would've simply picked up the bottle, followed the car to the next stop, knocked on the window and said, "I think you dropped this back there. I thought you might want to stick this where your head appears to be."

No violence. It's the MA way, not the Chicago way of shooting first and asking questions later.

So...

I'll bet the guy in the car didn't get up in the morning and say to himself, "I think I'll go out and get into an altercation with some asswipe biker."

I'll bet that the guy in the car...and the chick...have a significantly different point of view about what CBRR did. I'll bet that when CBRR swerved in front of him it looked a lot closer than CBRR thought...and it probably scared him. And humans have two reactions to fear...fight or flee. Cager chose to fight. Bad choice and it triggered the same reaction in CBRR. And the rest is just freekin' stupid...from the bottle toss to the fender banging.

I am an adult and sometimes I even act like one....

I like the gas cap idea.
Not gonna work for everyone, though...

I usually just make a "Bowser muscle" For some reason this absolutely infuriates people. Seriously. Give it a try, but be careful... it's effective

I have been in a similar situation and in hindsight the BEST thing I could have done was to either just pull over and vent or call the cops and let them do their jobs. Instead I decided to get road rage and it cost me about $1k in fines and loss of license for 3 months with 25% increase in insurance costs.

I understand how frustrating it is when shit like that happens. If they didn't call the cops yet you're lucky. You'd be looking at reckless driving plus possible assault charges.

I used to live in Methuen and know how people are down there. Even a better reason to ride on the roads with less cars.

Just take a chill pill next time.

ok! after reading all the other posts I've build up my rage.

I would have stood on my tank backward (facing the cage), unzip and start to piss all over them fu$cker$. since I can piss all day and they wouldn't see thru my golden shower, they pulled over.

it is then I pull out my rambo knife and crave "dont' fuck with H-town bikers." on their hood. If they have a cat inside the car, I would do a football punt over the interstate, and said "this is how I roll"

then again, maybe not. sorry had to get that out of my system

you do realize boston has the one of, if not the highest murber rate in the country right now dont you lol.

people think they are so safe in their one little world driving around, like the car is a safehouse or something. did you over-react? sure but maybe the public needs more over-reactions. People assume nothing is ever going to happen to them so they do whatever the fuck they want..

it wasnt right what you did, but i probably woulda dont the same thing...
