According to police and witnesses, a maroon 2001 Toyota Highlander driven by Douglas Mondello, 21, of Chelmsford, was attempting to make a left turn... when it struck a black 2002 Honda Accord...

"(Mondello) was paying attention. He was only going 10 or 15 miles an hour and he slammed on his brakes and ended up on the trunk of the Honda," said 23-year-old Jordan Geoffroy, of Chelmsford.

Geoffroy was waiting for Mondello in the parking lot when he saw the accident unfold.

Wondering if the Highlander had his signal on, that would (to me) indicated that I should be aware he might not see me and turn into me.
