1980 Honda 200 CMT info?

Anyone know anything about this bike? Just wondering how hard it's gonna be getting parts, tires etc. I can't even find tire sizes.

1980 Honda CMT200 Twin Star (2100 Original Miles)

and no, it's not for me. My girl found the one above & fell in love w/ the thing

Werd, thanks beetser...

Gotta know more about it to determine how much of a hassle it would be for me to find parts & fix it if it falls apart.

Find a CM400T. That was my first bike. Watch for broken head bolts, stripped out cases from the head bolts and weeping head gaskets.

The Twinstar is a dog, don't bother with it. If she can't handle a 400, she really isn't ready for a bike. (unless she goes for a ninja 250)

she's not into the sportbike look... wants more of a retro standard. I showed her a Hawk & she was interested in that as well. Kinda likes the SV650 but it's physically too big for her... she's a shorty.

Basically, lookin for somethin super cheap, bulletproof & small. 250-500cc's

good upright riding position that new riders seem to do best with. lightweight bike, good for backroads, maybe 65 mph near the top. tires original also? think dry rot....

my ex had a CM250C, very similar, 1982 vintage

very reliable, top speed 85±

easy to wheelie in every gear (at least with my fat ass hanging off)

bulletproof engine, cold blooded but once warmed up very smooth, drinks very little gas 80-100mpg

she paid $600 in very good mechanical condition, seat needed reupolsteriing, needed a choke cable, (snagged a fairly generic one off another old UJM)

Early 80's Hawk 450 would be perfect. Same engine, but bigger, not large framed, reliable, easy to maintain, etc. I think I still have a bunch of spare parts too.

I already tried... she wants more of a retro classic

Clayton, '87 what... EX? If it's cheap enough, maybe she'll go for it.

pete the cm200 is a woeful heap of crap and if it's been sitting for a long time it's probably not worth the effort or the cost.
how tall is your lady friend as there are some bikes down here for cheap that may suit
