Well that put a damper on my day. After doing my first Track day in April this year I could not wait to get on the track again, but because of travel for work and other issues I had to wait till July. No big deal cause at least its a 2 day and the BBQ at night should make it worth it. Fastforward to this morning: I get an email from our VP informing us there will be a managers planning session in Atlanta 7/23 and 7/24 . The worst part is I don't know if I will be able to attend any other days the rest of the year because I have a lot of things going on.

I would have to be sick Monday and Tuesday cause we are flying to Atlanta Monday morning. Also, it is not a meeting that I really want to miss. They fired my boss two weeks ago and there are probably some changes that will be happening in the near future. I would like to make sure my departments needs and best interests are taken care of. As well as some selfish motives to increase my own visibility. Otherwise if it was any normal meeting I would have told them no, I have vacation planned and it would not be an issue. That's what makes it suck even worse. I got the clearance not to go but I really should go.
