Terrible Experience with Plaistow Powersports, NH

They are close to me and I was hoping to be able to do business with them with upcoming purchases. This thread has taught me to consider who I bring my business to.

Terrible Experience with Plaistow Powersports, NH

Funny thing is I bought my bike from them and my experience has been the exact total opposite of this poster.

I have been biting my tongue and not saying much here.

In Sept 2005, after being dicked with my local dealer 4 times, I got pissed off and called PPS and asked them if they had my bike in stock. When they said yes, I told them give me your best out the door price and I will be there within an hour to sign the paperwork. MSRP = 6495 and they quoted 6000.
I signed paperwork and they added one fee which I almost walked out on but conceded paying a 60 dollar documentation fee.

Every time I have been there, I have been treated with respect and cordially.

I don't know what happened here but I would definitely give them a chance.

I know that they will be the FIRST place I will go to for my next bike.
If I like what they offer, I will stop looking right there, if not, I will keep shopping.

Terrible Experience with Plaistow Powersports, NH

That was my experience up until i went to go and get the bike...

I had originally been dealing with Greater Boston Motorsports, and the guy there had been giving me a hard time and raving about how i shouldn't be going around his back to see what places had different prices (I had checked prices at cycles 128), so I decided to give PPS a call figuring they were out of state so they weren't in the GBM-controlled-sphere.

The salesman I eventually dealt with at PPS came on the phone and was incredibly nice, joked around with me, and it was an overall good experience. He said "Hey Aaron, I've got an '06 SVS in Red, so I can probably save you a bunch of money on that. How'd you like that?" I told him that would be great and agreed to put a $200 deposit down after he had quoted me $6000 OTD.

Only after that is when the dealings turned sour...

This thread is by no means to deter people from going to PPS. If you've been there before and had a good experience, I envy you -- I would much rather have had a pleasant experience with them, instead of delaying my purchasing a bike and the frustration associated with arguing semantics with them and eventually hassling them to return my "fully refundable" deposit. I only want people to be aware of my amazingly poor experience there, as I think information is the best weapon when it comes to dealing with buying goods/services from a dealer.

I know Billerica Motorsports is not in business with anyone else. Their prices might be a little higher, but they stand behind their customers and their work. No hidden fee's and no agenda's to make extra $ on the sale.
