I dunno if I'm....

...bored with my bike, or riding in general. The past two seasons before this (two years ago in particular) were filled with LOTS of VERY aggressive streetriding. Now I find myself bored with anything less than arrest-me-now-officer speeds. I really can't afford to lose my license, either. I'm considering putting my bike away soon...since I'm pretty sure I won't ride it again this year. I don't even look forward to streetriding anymore.

i think it means you need to get a little 250, so you're always pushing the bike's limits.

I need a scooter. I can practice wheelies on it. That takes finesse for sure (not that it doesn't on a liter twin, either...the power is touchy!).

I dunno, maybe I'll be raring to go again in the spring. I know I'm bored with the TL, though sometimes I wish it had more power.

I'm with you JC I haven't done much riding this year since I got the ticket at the blessing.. sorta soured riding for me this year plus as you put it anything less than balls to the wall or three gear wheelies and I'm getting bored.... I've been thinking of a turbo busa as the next toy but that would be sure to kiss my license goodbye and since I need it for work that wouldn't be a wise idea..... perhaps dirt.. or a new boat.. I'll have to see how I feel next spring.

It's comforting (I wouldn't' say 'nice', for your sake, hhehe) to know I'm not the only one that feels like this sometimes. I'm not doing anything drastic until spring comes and I can get back out on it. I'm paying it off soon, so at least it won't cost me anything over the winter.

Dirt Riding is where its at...

JC I hear you on this one, Im pretty much resolved to putting my 954 on the stands for the winter (this weekend) as well, for vy. similar reasons (and a combo of work crap keeping me too busy as well).

BUT, I have to recommend you get a WR250/426/450 to keep you company. You can have more fun @ 40 in the woods then you can on the street at triple that #. Best part is you can still practice wheelies all you like, just not get any tixx for it . Top speed? who cares! The sensation of speed is there because you're in a much more confined space (woodsriding anyways).

I haven't had as much time riding this year as I would have liked, in any regard - but when it comes down to choosing, the 426 always gets taken out first .

Oh yeah, if you want - think of it from a financial aspect:
1. No insurance
2. Low purchase price <$5g's
3. Crash all you want, no plastics bills more then 150$, bars are another story, as are forks
4. Ride all weekend on 5$ in gas
5. The best one - NO SDIP

Maybe Im biased...its possible
4.

I've been looking at the new wr450's .. MMMMMM... but are there that many places to ride off road anymore? I know back when I had my CR the areas that you could ride in without getting harassed were getting scarce.... (at least in the southeastern portion of the state)

Know what your talking about. This year put on better than double what I did in the two years previous combined. This year it just felt good to back out agian, just don't have the time I need to ride.
But with all the Leo's out there just looking to give anyone with a ride a hard time.

I'm glad that speed doesn't really do anything for me, but leanin and sliding does, and I have roads close by that I can get good lean angle and less than 50mph, still though, I hafta ride down south at least once during the season to get a real fix.

Yup I know what you mean too. I am bored with my bike – too old. I need a new one. This year I did ride more than I have in the past few years. I have the time just no baby sitter. I haven’t ridden dirt for a while, but looking forward to getting my six year old a dirt bike and teaching him (and the three year old) how to ride. Maybe I’ll get another YZ125 for myself some day. It would make a nice change, but like Chip said “the areas that you could ride in without getting harassed were getting scarce....”. BTW Chip, if you want to sell that R1, sell it to me!!!!!! I hope to ride more next year!

JC, Boy Can I Relate!

That's EXACTLY why I don't ride anymore. The only thing I enjoyed was MACH1, and the cops and retirees would really piss me off when they wouldn't allow it. I'm much happier with the convertible - right, Degsy?

I had to curb my riding for another reason, but as to getting Bored, I don't think I could. I was born with riding boots on, and I guess there isn't much that can change that. I found if you get bored with your ride, swap up with someone else, if you can.
I had a Busa all weekend, and when I went back to the Tiller, it was like falling in love with it all over again.....

I don't mind a "Gang Blast" thru the twisties, or just taking up some scenery....
It doesn't matter to me going 55, or 155, I'm in the wind, and that's all that counts....

I love my bike, there's no doubting that. I'm just not content doing less than WAY over the speed limit. Cruising around doesn't do it for me anymore.

Believe me, that thought has crossed my mind more than once...but I can't dedicate Friday through Sunday one weekend a month. Worse comes to worse, I'll strip down the TL and do more trackdays.

JC

I couldn't dedicate Friday through Sunday neither. So I would show up at the track on Friday evening and race on Saturday only and be home by Sat. evening. If you choose the right bike, you can race 2 races on Saturday.

Just a thought.

Some things that haave rejuvinated my riding:

1. Racing (1986-88 and 2000)
2. Becoming an MSF instructor
3. Wife riding her own bike
4. Writing for MCN
5. Sportriders

I'm not bored, so much. I just haven't had any time to ride this year. Funny, too. I've found that with my newest daughter that I'm worried I'll miss something. While I'm bummed that I didn't ride much this year, I don't regret not...

Next year, bro. You & I missed a lot of riding...

Oh, and by the way. I'll have the race bike all good to go next year. And you'll be more than welcome to use it for such occasions...
