Lowering a 250 Ninja?Ok guys, I'm about as mechanically inclined as a rock. Put in in front of your firewall, IDS/IPS, Router, switch, etc, and I'm on fire, mechanically though, I'm a dud... So, I bought my wife a 250 Ninja for her first bike and she she still can't touch the ground solid with it. She's barely 5'2"... Who's willing to help me out with lowering it for her? I'll pay ya for your time, $$$, Beer, ???... I want to get her signed up for the M.O.S.T course soon, but she won't even consider getting on the bike until she has solid footing on it. So, who's up for helping me? Thanks, --Brad |

Lowering a 250 Ninja?I'm happy to help but I'm assuming the stock shock does not have height adjustments. You could soften it up a bit, or if you locate and buy the parts, (dogbones I'm guessing, no familiar with the bike much) I can help you install them. |

Lowering a 250 Ninja?Quote:
What is it with all this lowering of bikes. A 250 ninja is a tiny bike to start with. Don't take this the wrong way, but you don't have to be able to flat-foot to ride a bike. Back in the old days when men were men we were taught that if the bike is too high, lean the bike and use your toes to hold it up if neccessary. Seriously, you should buy her a cruiser if she wants to flat-foot it. Derek |

Lowering a 250 Ninja?Try shaving the seat and dropping the front end by raising the fork tubes in the triples. As for people who always say to never lower a bike... Yes... you are correct you don't need to flat foot a bike to be able to ride. BUT... from someone who is short. Maneuvering a bike that you can't flat foot while pushing it around a parking lot or garage is tough. Try tip toeing a bike backwards up a hill to turn it around... It FECKING HARD to do. Especially when your bikes are over 500lbs. I don't notice the seat height at all while actually riding... but its the stupid act of backing out of a parking space... or backing into a parking space that sucks donkey balls. |

It's about comfort level with her and I respect that. I'd rather have her comfortable and enjoying riding, than have her nervous and it being a chore or pain in the ass... |

Lowering a 250 Ninja?I would also say look into shaving the seat. You can drop a few inches without changing any of the characteristics of the bike |

Lowering a 250 Ninja?my friend just got a new bike and the donkey before him shaved the seat - allthough it doesnt affect the suspension - it fucks up how the rider moves on a bike |

Lowering a 250 Ninja? You can buy adjustable 250 links here: - - - Adjustment Tech Racing - - - I bought some for my wife's first bike. They are well made, infinitely adjustble and allow the bike to be raised as well. |

Lowering a 250 Ninja?Run 5 psi air pressure? Seriously, I'm sure the suspension must have some built in adjustment, plus when I bought a Corbin it felt like my seat height dropped about an inch for my ZX-9. |
