Gas Milage on liter bikes

I ride a 01cbr929 and am pretty sure that I get about 35mi. per gl. My tank holds 4.7gl. of gas.(US) My reserve light goes on at 110-115mi. and I have about 30mi. after that before I absolutely must have gas. I calculate 140mi. before I totally run out of gas.... does this sound right?? What's your experience....

That sounds spot on. On the R1 I usually get about 130-140miles until my gas light comes on and then I have at most 20 miles until bone dry. When I'm hammering it, the light will come on around 120miles.

I've gotten just over 200 miles on a tank of gas. My tank is 4.9 gallons, with reserve. That's about 40ish mpg.

Of course, its carbureted, so that makes a difference.

I have close to a 5 gallon tank and the light comes on in about 90 miles. I could probably push it another 15-20miles but my bike is a pig. On highway I might get 35mpg but its boring. Last time on the track I was getting like 9 miles a gallon.

I get 38-45 with my V-Strom 1k better than the 35-42 I used to get with my SV650

I fill up at 180-200 miles, usually have a gallon or so left in reserve

Hell, even when I bang on my CBR, it gets better than 40. Guess there's something to be said about a carbureted inline 4.

I average 45 - 52 mpg commuting on the SV.

About 5 mpg less if I beat on it.

Gas Milage on liter bikes

Thanks everyone... I'm running with a couple of STriders in the Kancamagus and we're looking at 400+ mi. (dawn to dusk) and I'm running the only sport bike with a 4.7gl. tank. The ride is arrest me mode and the riders don't want to stop less than 110mi. I think I'm going to carry a hose with me and my cell phone!!

my 1000rr gets 160 before the light goes on... ive ran it up to 202 on a tank before filling up, but i must have been running on fumes... I always calculate it to 40-42 mpg "traveling" (if you want to call it that) and about 35 when beating on it hard

During easy commuting, I regularly squeeze 50-55 mpg out of my SV650. During harder riding it drops significantly.

If you're going to make the full 400 miles you're probably going to want to make them stop so you can rest your a$$ and stretch about every 120 miles anyway. A small gas tank is a good excuse. Otherwise you're going to feel like the new guy in the prison shower at the end of this ride.

I get about 30-32MPG average on the 12R. Best I've seen on the highway is 38-40. The worst I've seen was during a ride through NH when it dropped to about 22MPG. Never paid attention to the mileage on the track but I'm sure it's in the teens.

My SV650S gets about 42MPG when I ride it and about 56MPG when my wife rides it.

my zx14 averages around 32mpg, I usually fill up when I hit the 150mile mark figuring that I have another 30 miles in the tank

What's the TL-R got? A 5 or 5-1/2 gal tank? It's rare I make it to 100 miles without the light blinking. I've never pushed it much past that. I've owned Zooks long enough to know when the fuel light starts lightin' up, it's time...

You're tellin' me you get about 150 miles before your light starts blinking? You sure about that math?
