Dainese leathers question

Dunno ...

I got two complete sets of Dainese leathers ...

Summer 46/56 and Winter 48/58
Winter has wool sweaters and such underneath plus I use the winter
pants to commute to the office in my office clothes.

Summer outfit is perf'ed leather.

Overall opinion ... good stuff but overpriced.
Good deals are available on the net if you shop long enough.

Zippers and zipper tabs leave a bit to be desired. Use fishing swivels to fix zipper tabs.

I bought some of the stuff at Motomarket, not very happy about my last purchase.

Best bet is to look at ebay listings to find out what model you have if it is not sold anymore.
The US Dainese site has a good collection of stuff that is still available.
CycleGear is a good site for sales on their stuff ... especially the discontinued stuff.

Do a search on Dainese dealers ... lots of sites come up.

Dainese leathers question

Who cares ... put 'em on and go ride the piss out of 'em!

They change styles like women change shoes and keep charging the
same outrageous prices.

The only compliment I ever got on my Bora was from a gay couple at
the Dragon. You want compliments?

for that price you should jump all over them if they fit.

i love the dainese suit i got from hambone. the quality is great, & for the same price new I'd be looking at only bottom-end suits. the dainese I got used (& not crashed) would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay outta my price range new. & damn that's some nice leather.

Look at how Dainese is cut, constructed, and sewn. There are definite differences in the suit which justify its expense over the crop of Chinese clothing we drown in now in the USA.

Plus - they paid to have it sewn in places that were not China to help keep the quality up.

The Brave was the base Dainese two-piece track day suit. A step above the Luce, and a step below the K-suit which could be raced in with a one piece.

A very nice, basic Dainese suit. What it was missing from the higher end suit like a K was the quality of the armor and lack of extra expansion panels.

I have over 15 pieces of Dainese clothing ... leather, armor and other accessories.

Zippers are not that great, tabs break off because of that current stupid
skeletonized uber cool look. I have had 3 zippers fail completely.
I have also had several seam failures especially where 3 or more pieces
of leather come together in the pants and one jacket. No crash damage
mind you, just normal wear.

Their socks were complete junk ... 3 handwashes and they fell apart.
MotoMarket took them back and exchanged them for RevIt brand which
are 50 times the quality and have now withstood over a year of wear
with no signs of deterioration.

Don't make the mistake of putting them on a pedestal, they make as
many mistakes as A* and the other top brands. Like Dodge pickups
and Harley-Davidsons, they have a fanatical following due to a most
excellent MARKETING department.

Note that I am NOT saying their stuff is shite ... quite the contrary.
They do have decent quality gear. You can get as good if not better
with other brands for much cheaper. Some of the European motorcycle
gear rating organizations are quite brutal when it comes to comparing
Dainese with other brands.

Why am I sticking with Dainese?

Like camera lenses, once you settle on a platform .. ie Canon or Nikon,
it costs too much to swap once you have a system of gear.
It all zips together very well and the parts complement each other
very well.

Dainese is NOT junk, it also is not as great as what their marketing
department makes it out to be.

Dainese leathers question

I never listened to the marketing dept. We have the crashed suits hanging up on the walls in the warehouse attesting to the quality of the components.

And I have customers who still call us for it and are willing to pay the price for the product. And my dealers who still carry it love it.

I know, I bought my winter Dainese jacket from you!

It was a great deal and a great price and I would do it all over again.

It is very warm and very comfortable!
I wear my Dainese gear daily ... everytime I ride.
Last year, I put 20k miles on my bike ... so I use it.
I care for it using that leathermate stuff Motomarket sold me.
Wet gear is always dried in front of an air conditioner which provides
cool DRY air that has been dehumidified.

The wear and tear that I have on my gear is what I consider normal.
The same thing would happen even if I had A*, Kobe or JR gear.
My gear gets used every day, it does not stay in the closet only for track days.

Who do you use for Dainese gear repair?

I am looking for a good deal on the new WHITE perfed Santa Monica leather jacket.
I don't mind spending the money if I think I get what I pay for ...
For the moment, I am keeping my options open for returns or a slightly
damaged jacket.
