Post trip bike damage

So today I finally got the bags off my bike and cleaned it up to acess the damage. In case I didnt mention it before after the first day the pipe got too hot on the right side and damaged the pipe, the bag and some luggage. I was Mcguyver and made a heat shield from common hardware store parts and was able to get it home without further incident using a cookie sheet and some safety wire. Worked like a charm. When I was washing the bike today I found a crack in my front fairing and have no idea how it got there. Can it be plastic welded? Jamie where did you go?

Bruce

Pic of crack...

Pic of pipe damage. I e mailed Dan Kyle, 125 for new sleeve, 50 for packing wool. I think it was the packing which failed cause the left side was fine for the whole trip.

Here is my Mcguyver fix.

And here was my dirty ass bike. Oh yeah, forgot to mention front left fork seal went out. You can see the leak on the fairing. Pete I will be making an appointment in a couple weeks. All 3 of my bikes will be coming in.

If it's nice enough out to wash, then it's nice enough to be riding it..

Since I am outta work cause of the back I cant ride it. I would like to ride but this affords me a good oppertunity to get it taken apart and fixed and give the KLR some attention when I am up to it.

If you set your wheelies down gently, your radiator will not fall off... Oops, that was the Mike version.

Here is the Bruce version: If you set your wheelies down gently, your fairings will not crack!

Tell me you saved your wave rotor!
