no the rain cannot ruin it. I ride just about every day rain or shine with a transponder mounted just like this...

i think that would be pretty easy. the mileage divided by the time it took you to go from one to the other.(look at EZPASS time stamp) and theres your ticket

EZ Pass on a bike?

I put my Fast Lane tag on the inside of my Givi top case. Only been through the tolls 4 times since I got it, but it read it no problem all four times.

Thats why I specified New york state. On long trips stopping for gas will also offset your average speed. This was also happening 8 years ago. Someone may have filed suit for entrapment or something since then as well. All I know is I saw it happening then in the Buffalo area.

worst case scenario is it doesnt work and it takes a picture of your plate and when they run it they will find that you have an EZPASS. ive had mine since they started with 0 problems. sometimes i dont even put it on the bike and go through anyways.

looking into setting up fast lane on my bike as well. in reading the terms and agreements figured i would let everyone know. technically if the transponder doesn't get picked up and they snap a shot of your plate to bill you, you pay a $1.00 video toll on top of the regular toll. just an fyi for everyone. i'm not sure if they follow through on this or not.

Re: EZ Pass on a bike?

I've had a Mass Pass on my car since 2002, replaced it in 2005 for free. I used to use it for my motorcycle too. It worked everytime mounted on the left inside of my windscreen. Every so often I would forget to take it out of the car when I got on the bike. So I got a second transponder that I now leave on the bike. This one almost never works. I had it checked and they tell me it works fine. Every month or two, when I stop at the gas station I just go in and explain that it isn't reading and they credit me the video fee, but they refuse to replace the unit.

FYI - A couple of years ago, it was determined by the state that giving tickets on route 90 purely based on time between toll booths was unconstitutional and they are not allowed to do it.
