Saw the new hypermotard in Boston today

I had to deliver something to state street for my job today and while driving around I spotted the new hypermotard. Pretty nice looking in person.

they're sick...I'm curious whether or not the owner bought it because motards have that extra suspension travel which may help in the city

I sat on one at Eastern Cycle Ducati and it was pretty neat. I felt really far forward sitting on it, which was cool.

Despite the long travel, it is set up a little firm for street. I don't think it's really meant to handle rough pavement duty.

I beg to differ. I took one down a Goat Path in the NorCal mountain and it ripped. The Goat Paths out here are super tight (almost single lane), rural mountain roads that are paved, but have been patched so much over the years that there literally isn't a single section of smooth pavement. Constant bumps, ridges, ripples, and holes. I hopped in a group supermoto ride on the Hypermotard and hung with them rather well.

Sure I could have gone faster on a 12" supermoto, but I wouldn't have been going half the speed I was on a typical motorcycle.
