Japanese biker fails to notice missing leg - CNN.com

The 54-year-old office worker was out on his motorcycle with a group of friends in the city of Hamamatsu, west of Tokyo, on Monday, when he was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and bumped into the central barrier, the Mainichi Shimbun said.

He felt excruciating pain, but did not notice that his right leg was missing until he stopped at the next junction, the paper quoted local police as saying.

The man and his leg were taken to hospital, but the limb had been crushed in the collision, the paper said.

Doesn't use rear brake? Doesn't shift? Haha.

I hope that if I were to go on a group ride with one of you one day, you'd have the decency to pick up my leg.

he could still shift if it was only his right leg... he just wouldn't be able to use his rear brake.

Well, that's why I asked one, than the other. It was one of the two.

Where does one store a leg while traveling? I just need to know, in case I pick up someone's leg. It's not going to fit in my tank bag.

what you mean you don't carry a backpack on the off chance that someone will lose a leg and you'll need a place to store it???? You don't seem to be a very responsible rider if you don't even have somewhere to store a leg... geez.

there you go or velcro it under the tail (always carry that double sided velcro stuff) and pray that it doesn't hit the rear tire...

The funny is lost on me.

Guess I'll need to buy an EX, join the family, and start racing.
