so i ruined the ride today when i decided to highside my bike lol met up with a buncha nesrians for what would have been an exciting day of motorcycle riding. Less then an hour into it on a back road in wrentham ma I approached a sharp right hander....the is when all hell broke loose lol I wasn't going unreasonably fast but a little faster then id like...and a little too close to the right....i hit the brakes and the backend wag;d a little but i settle it before turning.....that incident must have distracted me from seeing sand in the road because as soon as i corrected myself the bike spun up and I was over the bars instantly lol...conceeding defeat I let go and let the bike tumble around/over me a little until coming to a complete stop....
My textile gear is shreaded but i don't have spec of road rash...+1 for throw away Joe Rocket gear....my exo-700 did an awesome job..it has a nice chunk taken out of it...i'll be buying another one...
the bike isnt too too bad..we'll see what insurance says....
all in all i got pretty lucky....my ass is sore as hell, I got a big ass lump on it...pretty sure it will be black later on....pics to come..
again guys....sorry i ruined the ride![]()
Wow.. Glad your ok Ryan, did you ride home or have to pick it up?
It was ugly to watch. I was the second bike behind him. By the time I had a view around the corner all I was was Ryan sliding in front of his bike. I heard all the stuff breaking off. It was a bit scary and Im glad you came out of it fine. Im not sure what Dennis saw but it couldnt have been good.
The guys are still out riding so you didnt ruin anything. I called it a day for myself. Aside from the crash my hip is hurting me pretty bad today and riding doesnt make it feel any better.
The bike was trucked home. A bunch of cosmetic damage. Hopefully nothing major happened to it. It looked like it was fixable.
damn dude, that sucks. i hope the bike is fixable, but either way atleast you're fine.
the shitty thing about highsides isn't so much the flying part as it is the landing part.
ick. glad you're ok. hope the bike ends up alright.
it's becoming that time of year for more crap to be on the roads(although who knows where the sand came from)

Glad you're ok Ryan. I was running sweep and didn't see anything but the aftermath. There was a pretty good sized patch of sand in the middle of the lane, and it definitely had a hand in what happened, I'm sure. Dennis snapped some pics of the corner, so you'll be getting some. It's always scary to see bits of bike scattered all over the ground.
As for the rest of the ride, Degsy coaxed me into leading out to the Bean via 114S, 116S, 12N (Scituate RI Res loop), 14W and 169N. We stopped for a break at Suzy-Qs where Nate and Jamie broke off and headed homeward.
We hit some traffic, but arrived safe. I actually almost didn't. Less then half a mile from the Bean on 169, we were in a 35 zone doing about 50ish. Some guy in his 70's stepped off the curb and kept walking, even after he saw us coming. I had to grab both brakes, hard and probably laid down about 30 feet of rubber. (yes, I locked up the rear, stupid me)
Dennis and Degs lead after that, and Degs had to get his triple digit fix on 44 East.
glad to hear you guys had a good time any ways.
bike doesnt look too bad....ass is turning black and blue and everything is starting to hurtI went to urgent care to get checked out....everythings cool gots some meds....sitting here "medicated" and watching deadwood

Well Red, I'm very happy that you didn't get hurt. I was 2nd from last and when I came up on the scene your bike looked absolutely thrashed!!! I couldn't believe you were ok because it looked serious. From what Dennis tells me it also wasn't pretty watching you go over your bars and barrel roll for 50 yards down the street....Don't worry , you didn't screw up the ride at all, Like Degsy said: We've all been there and it was just your turn.
Other than that the riding today was great. I've never been on the roads near the Bean and some of them were pretty kickass!! It was good to see Kham out there stunting as well, too bad Duc Dave wasn't there, it would have been funny seeing the look on his face watching Kham, Dennis and yes....Degsy getting into the stunting today , well......Dennis and Degsy were pulling "Pree-me's" (and Dennis could only get his front wheel off the ground on a good steep hill) but it's all good...
Nathan and Dangerzone: You guys took off a little early and before the "Good" riding actually started!! Pussies!
Thanks to Chuck for taking the reigns, after Red had his little misshap, and leading this motley bunch of hooligans. I'm seriously kicking myself for not snapping a pic of Dennis riding Red bitch on his bike!! That would've been an instant classic here on NESR...and yes Red, they don't call him Smoothr-6 for nothing!!!!
Degsy: thanks for letting me take the 999 out, now I know what I'm getting for the 1098 over the winter.......suspension work! Like night and day those 2 bikes, I really wouldn't have believed it if I didn't drive the 999.
I won't talk about how many laws were broken today as well............![]()
Until next time fellow Nesarians.
PS: I can't wait for Dennis to start work on his little "Photoshop" project!!!!!!
** Hint** He snapped a nice picture of KHAM's head...............this should be good![]()
PSS: Steve: Nice excuse this morning......bike won't start??? Now I've heard them all.....
PSSS: That's the last time Degsy leads any ride I'm on..................ultimate hooligan!!!!

If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike
Well luckily I walked away from softball with no injuries.
Wish I could have been there to point and laugh!
Just kidding cuz you probably would have been on the MV!
Glad you're all right.

Red, shitty way to put an end to the season, but at least it's not like June. You have some time now to get it straightened out. I can't believe how far the bike slid! The scrape mark must have been 50-60 feet? Personally, I never consider it a good or fun day when someone stacks, but glad to hear you other douchebags had fun.![]()
