Cycle Posers | BMW r1200S boxer | Racing, Bmw, Endurance, Rear, New

"In order to achieve the higher engine speeds necessary for use in racing, however, the cylinder head has been redesigned. A modified valve operating system activates the enlarged intake and outlet valves. Other changes include the altered inlet and outlet channels ducts, new forged pistons and adapted connecting rods. A new titanium exhaust system helps provide an optimum torque curve. As usual, the engine management system is taken care of by the BMW Motorrad BMS-K, though here it has a revised characteristic map for racing purposes.

As a result of these modifications, engine output has been increased to well over 130 bhp. The engine speed limit is around 9500 rpm.

I don't see a chain. Is the final drive on that shaft? Or is the chain hidden very well?

The race prep has Honda Interceptor coloring. Very un-bimmerish.

while my bike was in the shop last week at a Triumph BMW dealership they gave me a 07 BMW 1200R as a loaner. It was a fun bike but the riding position and the way the boxer engine torqued made it seem like it would suck to ride agressively. I rode it for 3 days, it had pretty impressive tourque at 115ft lbs at 110 hp but no thanks +1 for the heated grips though

I took a R1200R for a three day 1500 mile ride in Cali. I really liked it. It is super torquy, kinda heavy, cool looking, - a great compromise between handling and comfort. I think you guys would be surprised what it can do.

Even though it is not a race replica, it can get through the corners pretty good. Even the stock suspension was good. Personally, it is a great street machine (besides the price 17k with options). If it was 7k less I would buy one.
