My NeW tOy..........where did I go wrong.....

Howdie,

I jus put a down-payment on a new CBR600RR. If nothing else I like the increased HP to 117, very little Honda graphics, nice swing arm and some of the other specifications I have read about that I am certainly not qualified to talk about.

After 14,400 miles on my first street bike and a lot of experiences both good and bad I figure I don't need any more that a 600 anyway. The F4i definitely has personality if ya keep the RPM high (around 7k) for good response for acceleration. I have heard that the F4i is about 97HP vs. a reported 117hp for the CBR600RR.
I would like a little more HP but not beyond the 600 class. I guess I will never be a liter type guy .

Anyway I am super fucking happy bout my new toy. Would appreciate some feed back and comments on the CBR600RR I have fallin in love with.

Comments? Yee-fuckin'-ha, bro! I hope that thing is all it's cracked up to be. I'm not necessarily a Honda guy, but if I was in the market for a new 600, it'd be a toss up 'tween that and Kawi's new 600RR...

Looks sweet... enjoy it.

Is that 117hp at the crank or the wheels? If it's 117 at the wheels they just blew away everyone else didn't they?

117 is what they (Honda) claim, I believe. Which means at the crank...

Congrats dude! That is a kick ass bike.

Love the exhaust, guess no more mags bitching about ground clearance! A couple years from now they'll all have underseat pipes.

Nice sharp lines, Honda quality, undertail exhaust, you must be stoked!!

I think you'll be happy for years to come!!!
A black NESTREETRIDERS sticker would look good on the yellow!

Will she see track time??

Sweet bike!!! It was a big toss up when I bought the 929, Yellow or red. The chick I rode with had a yellow Sv650 so I bought red, Didn't want to match, Know what I mean? 117 HP at the crank? That little sucker should haul ass!! Have fun man.

Thanx all for your positive feed back

Jus want all of ya ta know I appriciate yer feed back.

Stoneman,

thanks for your out right freakin Ya-hoo right on Bro. plus yer support. (not talking bout yer jock strap either).
I rally did enjoy the ride the group of us did this summer. Wish I could'uv done sum mo rides wit ya.

benSV,

Don't know if I eva did ny ridin wit ya, but tanks fer the tumbs up.

Jankster,

You know it. Being susch a fassion queen the only alternative is ta buy the black one so I will have everything coordinated. But Dat ain't gonna happin. So it's new leather and lace fur this guy to go with the new ride. All shit aside I wouldn't mind leading a group though Massachsetts up through VT to Waterbury next year for the experience. It's a lot of work and planing for an enjoyable ride. You did that each time a group of us did a ride with ya. Hats off ta ya man.

Kham,

I don't think I ever road with ya. but maybe next year we will hook up in a group ride and you can give my RR a shot and compare the difference between your's and my F4i.

PinHead said:

I get a stiffy every time I look at the Pic. Thanks dude.

bemused,

Thanks for your insight. I hope it is all that it is proported to be too.

ShredHed,

Thanx fer ya positives I can't wait ta sit on it.(Ummm lets not go anywhere with this. K?)

TLRMan,

I needed something cool to put on my head too. Just to keep it from pokin through my pants when I first saw it. Sorry. I really meant thanks fo the feed back.

SWEET_Z,

Thanks you for your thumbs up too. I really do like the undertail exhaust.

rui93,

I almost went for the yellow '02' F4i but the Silver/Red really cought my eye. With out all of the Honda Wings n shit the yellow really looks hot.

criminalspeed,

I am definately stoked. I can't wait to ride the freakin thing. I put the deposit down on the bike at Best Cycle in Nashua. They say the bike would arive late January to early Feb. I also think a nice BLACK NESTREETRIDERS sticker would look nice on a Yellow background too depending on the size. As far as track time goes I was gonna do the Penguin school and couldn't find the time or the Balls to do it this year. But I think it is a good possibility next year.

Dannyboy,

thanks for your best wishes. 929? man that is such a fast bike. I ain't even capable of pushing the F4i to it's limit yet.

Thanks all for your support. If any of you know of some one who is in the market for a 2002 CBR600F4i with 14,400 miles, never been layed down or dumped. Let me know. Some of you I have ridden with thus know my style of riding. the new owner would be getting a quality bike.

P.S. never been layed down or dumped yet. I hope the new owner keeps it that way too.

6K would make me and the buyer feel good . I think. but minimum would have to be what the dealer would render in a trade. which at this time is about $5900.00.

I take it this is not for you.

you're not a dealer are ya? I appreciate the offer, but it's a little low damnit. Seriously? I can shave few hundreds off what I got it for and I got it for little less than 6k.

Kham,

My bike is a 2002 F4i. I got this info from The Kelly Blue Book.
Stoneman, Your not to far off of the mark as far as Trade in value is concernded. The book I looked at at the dealership indicated the trade-in value I posted earlier. The book may not have the latest prices. Anyway below is as suggested retail value. If I could get somewhere between the two numbers both the buyer and seller should be happy.

November 16, 2002

2002 Honda CBR600F4i
4-Cylinder
4-Stroke
600cc

Suggested Retail Value $6985

Suggested Retail represents the price a dealership might ask for this make and model. The retail price is not a trade-in or private-party value, but rather assumes that a dealer has absorbed the cost of making the unit ready for sale, advertising, sales commissions, arranging financing and insurance and standing behind the unit for any mechanical or safety problems. Suggested retail represents a fully reconditioned unit in excellent condition, with all original standard equipment. Mileage/condition and additional equipment may have a substantial impact on the value shown above. Actual dealer selling price may vary from this

The trade-in price is what I was shootin' for. Don't forget, dealers SOMETIMES play nicer when cash is involved rather than a trade...

Just thought I'd toss the offer out there for you guys. If you change your mind(s) before I do, lemme know...

About the mileage thing

I got the following from Kelly blue book reguarding milage. the bottom line of the article should shed some light on these concerns.
