The 600 is way too slow. You probably need a motogp bike.

1st street bike?
a 600 is more than enough. Don't buy new either. chances are you will drop it or at least tip it over.

as far as which one is the best? some say Honda, some say Suzuki, etc. everyone has a favorite. Here is the one and only hard fast rule. There is no single Best bike out there. The best bike for you is the one you like the best, feel the most comfortable on and will allow you to ride to the best of your abilities...

Tim

Go for it - biggest difference is the torque - no need to work for it on a liter bike - power at all RPMs

save your money on a new bike...take the msf course, buy decent riding specific gear (min, helmet[make sure it is fiberglass not a plastic composite], jacket(with armor), gloves and boots. I would stay away from the newer 600's for a 1st bike, they are almost as powerful as the old school liter bikes.

there are tons of threads about this...try a quick search....

The 1st mod to your bike should be frame sliders.

its not fast enough?

in what situation? street, track, drag strip.
I find it hard to understand 600 is not fast enough. I find my 636 has way more than what I need on streets.

What do you have for a 600 now?? What is your definition of speed?? At this site there are tons of dudes that could REALLY educate you on the meaning of speed.

i think he's talking straight line doesn't feel fast. the smooth 06 zx10r engine doesn't feel fast. the duc 996 doesn't feel intimidated.

Yep, but add a big-bore kit and a turbo first.

If that's not fast enough, some jets show up on ebay from time to time.
