I was talking to Jake the other day, I dont know how many 1125's are spoken for up there. Get on that demo early though, I have a feeling its going to get abused often.... If anyone is looking for a Buell talk to Jake up in Manch. (shameless plug)

Seems like most people have a gripe w/ that front fairing... I haven't ridden one yet but most people who have taken out the pre-pro's @ the track days Buell was doing said that "ugly" front end keeps most wind and turbulance away from the rider. I'm more form-follows-function anyways. You know 12sec fox body mustang, 6+ inch lifted (ugly, dented) jeep cherokee...

anything outside of the basic cookie cutter lines like the new KTM RC8 will get mixed reviews. They'll feel differently when you blow by them on their run of the mill gixers, TL and RC51s

(notice I didn't throw in a Yamaha )

I spent a day shagging the hell out of the 1125r down at VIR. One hell of a bike. I'll tell you that the only issue I encountered was the hot right foot. The natural position of the riders right toe on the generation of 1125r was directly under the hydrolic clutch cover. There was a lot of talk by the engineers there on fixing that and it was the biggest concern they had at that point. To be honest I barelly noticed the heat. I guess I was climbing all over the bike in all of the turns but looking at the way it was set up I could see it as an issue while cruising.

Being in American manufacturing I have been hoping someone [American] would put out a sportbike worth owning. I had some decent seat time on the XB12R and saw that it would go where you pointed it better than most bikes I've ridden but the powerband was so narrow and thengine redlined so low there wasn't any way that even a squid like me could really enjoy the bike. So I'm saving the pennies and hoping to get one.

Yes the front end does seem quite big when you first look at the bike but the purpose is very obvious once you first give the trottle a full yank. There is little to no wind turbulance when you are tucked into the "Quite Zone" I believe they called it. I'll tell you by thend of the day I diddn't even notce the front as an issue. The pics don't do the bike enough justice. I'll take the big radiators sticking out of the sides any day over an air cooled bike as well.

Buy one you won't regret it and you'll be buying American - may not be a bad idea as well. The hardest part is going to be finding a salesman who isn't running away from you to go polish a fat boyor adfjust his leather doo rag.

nice write up nixoid, like i said in an earlier post.. give jake up @ Manchester HD/Buell a call... they had i believe 5 1125R's coming in with the first shipments and only #1 (mine) was spoken for then. Oh, and check badweb in the 1125R section. Seems they have figured out that right foot heat issue....

Yeah, Buell wanted to make sure this first example was as perfect as possible. It sounds like they really took into account all the feedback they got from the riders during the trackdays they ran all summer. From what I've heard on BadWeb they have adjusted certain things last minute and have already rolled out the first example. Buell Motorcycles | Browser Compatibility
At this point I can be patient and hopefully we will have a few warm days once I get the bike.
