Heh heh, thanks Pete, but actually, the king of lean (queen of lean sounds so much better) on this board has to be Paul E D. Paul, where's that turn 2 pic you have?

You can, just take your foot off the rearset and drag it on the ground. That's the best way to do it on a busa anyways, since they only go straight.

Once in the bowl, I dragged my toe, knee puck, and my shin (or it might have been my accual knee above the puck)at the same time. This was when I didn't get off the bike enough so I'd tip the bike over way too much. I was probably entering the bowl too fast and/or decided to countersteer too late. This picture is probably the day it happened. I cringe when I see this...

In the really old days before people dragged knees the correct form was to drag toes deliberately -- this was how they gauged lean angle.

It's really weird seeing that today, these guys would corner without hanging off very much at all but they'd rotate their leg so their foot stuck out. Kinda hard to see in this picture but here's Mr. Hailwood demonstrating the technique (notice the sole of his right boot):

i drag my knee once. man that hurt. i drag my foot peg this summer.

the bike looks kind of small for that guy. how much compression is the front suspension would you say just by looking at it? max travel? if yes does that mean he's just holding the throttle? that's really cool form.

I expected a squid comment or two by now, I mean come on this is NESR where its so frowned upon to ride unless your on the track.

Brendan, shameless I tell ya To ride like that is awesome, to be able to ride like that off the track makes it even more impressive to me...

squid (skwid)
n., pl. squids or squid.

Any of various neanderthal sportbike owners that ride carelessly & use poor judgement, consistently demonstrating a lack of common sense & similar to the motions of a real squid they are fast then slow, fast then slow (Fast in the straights & slow in the twisties...).

Also
Squid: 1. In reference to younger motorcycle riders with little respect to posted speed limit laws, self safety or safety of others. 2. Inexperienced newcomer, someone trying to ride beyond his skill level with arms flailing (like a squid) to try not to fall. This may be just a Southern term. 3. Stupidly Quick, Underdressed, Imminently Dead. 4. Sportbike riders who wear tennis shoes or flip flops, shorts, T-shirts, etc. on their nice shiny new sport bikes. 5. Anyone who rides without all proper gear, rides recklessly or rides beyond his limits.
