One night last winter there was about 3 inches on the ground. Roads were white, with a few small strips pavement showing. It was also snowing pretty hard at the time. At about 10pm, I went to pick up a pizza. I some some dude on a BMW, totally bundled-up, 'riding' down the street. He was going about 5mph, and "walking" his bike with both feet on the ground.

I have, went out three years ago with Wayno around the Quabbin for a few hours, it was 22 degrees with ice strung across the road in many places. Not a great ride but still had a good time. I was bundled up so much that I could barely twist the throttle!

I have thought about it this week, but just dont have the gear or any wind protection on ether bike...

lol i tried doubling up on gloves once. leather driving gloves on top of my riding gloves.

I did that too. used wind stopper gloves under my joe rockets. i could barely squeeze my hand, and i was nervous on the throttle.

2 years ago when I did not have a car, my TL was my primary transport. At that point I was working out in Waltham (Polaroid) and commuting from the city. One morning in late March/early April I woke up to see snow falling. I said "fuck it" and fired up the TL. Much love goes to Held for including the squeegee on the left index finger because I had to wipe the snow off my shield every 20 seconds or so. Other than that, it wasn't too bad a ride until I got to the unplowed driveway at work (a few inches of accumulation). I had to slow it down a bunch and keep my feet out just in case. It was kind of exhilarating, but I'm not looking to do it again.

road were finally clear enuf today for me to ride to, instead of my normal 17 mile commute at 8:30am, I had a business meeting in Concord, and had to leave at 6:30am, it was about 10ｰ, the long way there to avoid snow/ice covered gravel roads is about 35 miles

I've been warmer in colder temperatures, I worked up a slight sweat with all my gear on when I walked my bike from my barn down to the road, so I got a bit of chill when I got up to speed before my Gerbings got up to temp.


it was great to ride again, haven't been on my bike since last saturday

with heated gear it's as warm as any other day

I was riding in Boston yesterday, 18-19 degrees in the morning wasn't that bad. 20 below is when my hands are wooden blockes without them little hand warmers in my gloves.

I took the day off today, and had too much to do to go for a ride for pure fun.

^ agreed. The other amazing (read: dumb) thing was they were wearing skull cap helmets. I can't even fathom how cold their faces were going 60 mph with no skin coverage...
