I was reading the latest issue of Cycle World. Some guy out in Colorado I believe got a speeding worth a cool $30,000 , plus had to do time for speeding. Apparently he was going 145mph in I suppose a 45/55mph zone. I belive he attempted to evade the troopers. If this was me, i probably would not go home after that, coz ny wife would surely kill me.

I think the bottom line was "with lawyers fees, flying out, flying other people out to testify, time off work, etc" it cost him $30-k

The amusing thing is there are letters this month about the $30k ticket article, and they printed several wondering why the guy bothered to stop.

Not that I would run, but then again I don't get caught doing 140 very often and have to decide.

I believe when you make the attempt to flee that jail time is automatic. Plus you're pissing off the cops and nothing yet can beat a Motorola radio. Just not worth ruining your life or even losing it to avoid a ticket .

Buddy of mine is NY Trooper, was hanging out one late night back in his patrol days and hears this engine winding up to limit. Few seconds later the bike passes him and his clock registers 160. He just looks out his window and goes whoa, then goes back to whatever he was doing (probably sleeping). No way he'd ever be able to catch up to that dude. What he remembers most is not how fast the guy was going, but how freakin' loud that bike sounded as it wound up.

at 140 + not some thing im saying 2 do got off next exit not running away but if he followed i was not on the same road any ways slow down after that thum thum thum thum hart beat go home

3rd day I had the Hawk went west on 90 145 past the troopers barraks

Try out running 2 cops in 1 town with in 5 minutes of each other. 5 bikes passing a cop doing 70 in a 30.. Then doing 120 in a school zone. (on a weekend) Made for a interesting afternoon in the lakes region. errr or so I heard..

Have you ever noticed that on a moderate / hard ride the riding equasion is: speed limit x2 + 10 MPH..

.56 is 56/100ths....so just over half of one. He's joking, but he's saying he goes just over half of 1 mph below the speed limit at all time.
