Sexy Pics

Of the new trailer that is.... picked it up friday and did a 4 hour trip (in the snow/rain) back and forth to BCM to pick up a bike. Towed very nicely and the new Strapless rear stand was a cinch to use and held the bike perfectly on the way back... its 7x12 with a 30 inch Vee...

Im new to towing (relatively) so I was pretty pleased with myself for getting it backed in to the side of my driveway like this....

The strapless transport stand

Re: Sexy Pics

Nice! Great looking trailer Manny. Perfect size for damn near anything.

A great way to practice backing up is to go to an empty parking lot that has those angle spots (the lots that each lane goes the opposite direction) and back up trying to keep the left trailer tires as close to the lparking lines as possible (zig zag) a few times and then back up keeping the right tires on the line. Not easy, but it will help you start to judge when the trailer pivots and how to steer ahead of it.

An old trucker taught me a simple backing trick... move the bottom of the steering wheel the way you want the trailer to go.

Enjoy!

very nice advice, drills like that should help a lot.

and an old trucker taught me how much a little can do. When you're backing up, just slight nudges. When I started (in a semi ), I was "over correcting like a son of a B*tch."

Very True!! I you ever want a fun filled day and you can't get to the track and your bike is in the shop, take a trip down to your local boat launch ramp on a sunday afternoon. bring food and beer and enjoy the show while people try to back down the ramp with tiny little trailers!! LOL

A rear axel bar that has custom spacers holds the bike about 2 inches off the ground (rear wheel). No straps needed at all.

google Strapless transport systems. Very trick product in my opinion.

Re: Sexy Pics

Slick! Do you still tie down the front just to make sure it doesn't move or bounce on rough roads? I think I am paranoid enough that I would...

Re: Sexy Pics

Some people say you should tie down the front, others dont. I would personally take two 2x4's and just put screw them down on either side of the front tire.

That in theory would be a good idea, but it would make loading the bike (at least with the one I have) very difficult as the bike is backed into the stand. If the 2x4's were some how removalbe yes, but otherwise no. I don't know about the pitbull one.

There is no question the handlebares turn a bit when using it. Is that really bad? I'm not sure. I have tie down points at the front so for long trips I think i may use a bungee cord or something to just hold the bars relatively straight.
