Do you really think women are impressed cause you're sitting there on your motorcycle? Do you think women are going to throw themselves at you when they walk by cause they're so impressed and turned on?
Make no mistake, guys posing on bikes trying to pick up chics walking by equals one thing..........YOU GOT NO GAME! Non-posers are inside hooking them in, getting digits while the posers are outside waiting for the women to throw themselves at them, ain't gonna happen). Hanging out drinking a coffee for a little bit after or during or before a ride is fine but to sit there on a street corner all night, getting on your bikes and ripping up the strip for a quick blast (so all the women can see you) then coming back to that street corner........GAY! If that's you I have some advice, get yourself some nice threads, keep the bike at home, pay the 20 dollar cover charge and learn how to approach a women in a nightclub......Worked for me. That's how I met Mrs Naked....

Yes yes I know, I sound like I think I'm the shit............You are correct, I am....
actually... you sound like you've done this sort of thing before judging by the amount of detail put into your description

Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

Marks right, if i had the looks i'd be posing for YOUNG women. but i pose to enjoy the warm summer air, bullshit with fellow bikers, enjoy the smell of noisy cars/bikes zipping by, big bootties about to cross the street to dunkin donuts, etc. when day light breaks we ride. it's too fuckin hot to sit around. duh!

No, I don't have my finger on the pulse and I'm not telling people what to do. I just know it's not cool to hang out on a street corner sitting on your fucking motorcycle..............almost like when your finger touches a hot stove top, your brain tells you to pull your finger away....somehow your brain just knows...

And yes nilez I have done it before, a long time ago when I lived in Hawaii when I first started riding.
It wasn't cool then and it's not cool now.

Again, just one mans opinion, take it with a grain of salt...

Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

i'd like to meet up for lunch/dinner or somethin on the bikes and hang out for a little bit. i don't really care where...

good way to meet other riders i guess. i probably wouldn't hang around too late or for too long, cuz if i'm in boston at night, just chillin on the curb, i'll be itching to follow the girls inside the clubs/bars...

i agree it's fun for a little bit, but posing all night is a waste of a night.

you've been hanging at the wrong spot.

depends on how busy you are at home or got a lot on your mind which this summer will be very different for me.

Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

this is cool because i don't usually drink or go into clubs on weeknights...

where's a good place where we can park the bikes on the curb and sit and eat outside to keep an eye on them?

and don't say the armani cafe...

Hey hey hey, slow down there big boy, that sounds like you're coming on to me.......But thanks anyways, I'm happily married

When I was younger I used to spend some of them in clubs chasing women, now that I'm married they're spent enjoying time with the wife and boozing with friends I guess...

That's an odd question. Please tell me you're not going to try and make an argument for sitting on your bike all night at the local strip....it can't be done!

**EDIT**

I think if we can get DucDave to weigh in here that would be great. He should be the end-all of this thread...his final word stands!

Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

i'm just thinking some sort of bikenight thing in boston this summer because i get outta class at like 9pm most nights and i'm right in the area. some place where we can park the bikes and i can sit outside and grab dinner. nothing like hanging out there ALL night, just for an hour or 2 myself, cuz it'll be getting late by then.

Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

I guess its Diffrent for everybody, For me hanging with other motorcycle people on Newbury is more akin to say Hanging out at motormarket (with Hot girls going by and less Dentists on Ducatis, And most most likely more Doucebags on Newbury sometimes)

If you dont get it,

You dont get it.

Sorry I didn't post just the pic, I'm on a pda

But I think its funny anyway

As for me if I lived closer I would hang out for a bit in downtown.

Picking chicks up with a bike? Way to easy! I had to tell a girl strait out that I though she was cute, but sorry I'm married.

another thing is you wouldn't hang out alone. you hang out with people you know. then you decide if the group is too good for you to hang out with.

Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

i'm not really a fan of newbury on the bike. i've riddin through and it's just too cluttered w/ cars, and it'll always be a bitch getting parking.

haven't checked out lansdowne in a long time. is there an outdoor cafe down there or something? i need food!

i saw a bunch of bikes parked out front of UNOs on becaon street (i think it was) a few weeks ago. just sort of standing and talking... looked kinda lame. just bad location i think. being able to park the bikes near some tables and chairs would be awesome.

Fair enough, I can see hanging out with friends on your motorcycles. I get that part. I just don't get hanging out at 10pm at night in a busy downtown nightclub district. What's the point? If you have 10 dudes sitting on a corner with their bikes what do you have? Now, take those same 10 guys on the corner and take their bikes away, now what do you have? 10 losers hanging out on a corner!

The defense rests your honor........

If ya wanna hang on your bikes with friends I think there's a time and place to do it, just not at night on newbury/landsdowne st!

Parkings not usually a problem, every now and again it is, but then when a car leaves we stake our claim. But I dunno bout outdoor cafes anywhere good, theres a couple on Beacon I think, but not a whole lot. Usually if we want food we'll go somewhere that doesnt have an outdoor section, but what can ya do.

I dont get your argument, its ok to hang out with your friends, as long as theres no one around to see you do it? But its not ok to hang out with your friends because if you didnt have motorcycles youd be losers?
I think youre confusing sitting around with friends with sitting around trying to impress girls CAUSE we ride bikes. I mean, if it helps it helps dont get me wrong, but we dont do it cause. We like spending our nights hanging out with friends and just happen to choose a place thats well populated to hang out. Its not like we spend all night sitting on our bikes begging girls to go for a ride. Usually we'll hang out at the patio at starbucks and just hang out, you wouldnt even know the bikes are ours.
