Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

don't worry about the dude that's a hop, skip, and a jump outside of boston. i think this is more geared towards the people who are already local and in the area, though all are always welcome of course. most weeknights i usually get outta class, go home, make dinner, and sit on my ass for a few hours till i got to bed. meeting up and grabbing dinner in boston with the bikes would be a blast i think, plus i'll just be over at northeastern anyways...

whatever gets you up, out, and where people are is always a good thing. i can't be going into bars or clubs and drinking during the week anyways, cuz i end up strolling into work at like noon the next day lol.

i'm down for whatever really, just remember that food is high on my list of priorities. i'll be starving by the time i leave NEU.

it's a million times more fun to hang out and people watch. who wants to meet up and shoot the shit at an empty parking lot in the middle of nowhere???

hahaha, Buddha, I think you should sell the street triple and use the money to buy yourself a year's supply of cafe food... but hey! I'm down to grab some grub in the city and chill for a bit on weeknights!

I think youre confusing sitting around with friends with sitting around trying to impress girls CAUSE we ride bikes. I mean, if it helps it helps dont get me wrong, but we dont do it cause. We like spending our nights hanging out with friends and just happen to choose a place thats well populated to hang out. Its not like we spend all night sitting on our bikes begging girls to go for a ride. Usually we'll hang out at the patio at starbucks and just hang out, you wouldnt even know the bikes are ours.
I guess my whole argument is hanging out on the sidewalk or corner at night is just gay......especially when you throw a bunch of guys on bikes into the mix.... why would you want to when you could be in the club picking up broads. We agree to dissagree, hows that?

Because bars and clubs especially are worse than the seventh circle of hell to me. I cant stand them. I very rarely go to bars, and never go to clubs.
But alright, agree to disagree.

you're making it sound like you went out to the club/bar EVERY night to pick up broads. sometimes it's fun to meet with friends in the city and have a mellow night. no need to go crazy. i wasn't thinking about this for the women...

just different perspectives i guess. my club nights are on the weekends. i'm meeting someone tomorrow night for a few drinks, but it's going to be really mellow because i've got a real busy week at work. and yes, during the week you can meet women just by standing on the sidewalk. you just gotta get out there in the first place. half the people in this thread probably like 5-10 minutes from newbury, so it's almost effortless to meet up over there just for the hell of it. it's just fun to get out there, bike or no bike.

lol and speaking of gay, it's kinda gay to make such a big deal about this if you're not interested in being part of it. go ride.

Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

Couple times last summer me and a bunch my friends rode to Newbury St. We parked our bikes right in front of the restaurant we were going to go to, we sat down and had some drinks and food and watch people walk by. I don't see what's wrong with that.

Now if you ride there and park your bike and actually sit on it all night, that in my opinion is kinda gay.

you know me well john.

not so much peer preasure. sometimes the group would ride to hampton beach and i stubornly decline and go home. for me it's one of those comfortable feeling when you're with buddys or girlfriend and at certain spot. before i started hangout, i use to think i can never hangout like that. now if somebody make me feel uncomfortable, then im gone.

it would be peer pressure to hanground lancedown or any place you're not use to.
