If posing on newbury is gay, just grease me up and call it a night. I mean, aside from the 1098 we almost lost. We shouldnt try that again

+1 Commuting within the city is one thing, but to take a ride through the city, I just dont understand that. I've taken a couple rides in to the city and I hated it each time. You got traffic lights every couple hundred feet, bad traffic, and unattentative drivers everywhere that you got to worry about. I'm suppose to enjoy that?

Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

Which is why those of us FROM the city end up posing. It takes a long time to get out anywhere fun to ride, and riding IN the city is just dumb. If we lived out in the boonies or wherever we'd probably hang out less and do more riding, but given where we live, you've all just basically summed up WHY we end up hanging out more than ride.

my other concern is my bike getting stolen - last time i had an alarm and we caught em in the act, but they still pushed the bike over trying to get it... a real shitty taste left in my mouth about bikes in the city at night

Yet another argument made for us. Thats why we hang out in the vicinity of our bikes.
I dont feel the need to defend myself, but everyone shits on "posers" then makes all the arguments for 95% of the reasons we do what we do. Plus if anyone wants to tell me Im a poser and cant ride I invite you to come check out the races, while I'm not very fast I can still ride circles around most people that claim they're real riders and crap on the posers.

Re: Bikes on Newbury St.

That was more of a general "people shitting on posers". Not just you Denno.
Plus, we shit on most of the posers that are out on newbury too, we just happen to be sitting near them while we do it.

I kind of like Newbury street myself. You can't eat ice cream while riding...
Although I have not been there yet this year.
