Racing boots - Prexports - Any thoughts??

Hello all... I'm trying to get squared away for my first racing season and was wondering if anyone had any experience with Prexport Speed boots??? or Prexport in general... I've been looking at getting the Alpinestar s-mx boots but saw these on newenough.com and wanted to check them out...

New Enough Boot Closeouts

They're about $50 cheaper than the s-mx... and look similar in style and construction...

Prexport Speed

Aplinestars S-MX

The Prexports have a vent feature that looks nice... dunno if it's actually useful or not...

Anyway... any thoughts would be greatly appreciated... I have the suit (Vanson Volante), gloves (Tecknic Violator Pro) and helmet (HJC) all sorted out... boots is my final gear item...

Thanks in advance!
Mike

Almost purchased a pair last year, but decided to go with an all around boot. Something I can wear on and off the track. I went with the Sidi Vertraba 's with the Tepor lining. AWESOME BOOT!! Great protection and comfort but definately pricey. If money is an object, then Prexport is a good option.

We've already spoke about the boots. I say get 'em already!

What HJC did you get? I'll be ordering an AC-10 from www.helmetharbor.com REAL soon. Excellent helmets for the money, BTW...

I have a CL-12 and a CL-14 on the way from Discount Motorcycle Helmet

I've seen the CL-12 stand up to some nice crashes... both my cousin and friend... (pics on my site if your interested)... so I trust them to do the job....

I agree though... the AC-10 is very nice... sucks that after one good hit a helmet is useless... get's expensive...

and OK! OK! quit nagging

Just a little more research and I'll order em'...

i have very little experience with them, ride couple times, as I just got them couple of months ago. they fit me fine and look nice. one of the little protective piece attach to the toe can't screw in tightly on mine. very hard to move around because it still new maybe. i'll try another brand next time.

That is mainly my street helmet... but they are Snell 2000... they discontinued them... but were 2k approved first....

Did you get them from newenough? Sucks about the toe gaurd.... I did read on the site that previous version (prior to the 2002 I guess) had issues with the toe gaurds... but is said to be fixed on these boots...

Were yours the exact ones on the site now???

Thanks!
Mike

Well I decided to go with the Prexports.... they seem like a good pair for the money.... I recieved a good amount of emails with positive reviews... so we'll see how it goes....

I've come to yet another question though.... about back protectors.... my Volante suit obviously has the standard Vanson protector in it.... I'm wondering if this is sufficient or if I should be looking into a more complex unit....

Any thoughts???

Once again I'm looking at one on newenough.com...

Link (About 3/4 of the way down the page)

Thanks as always for any input....
