Anyway, I roll up to an intersection that's somewhat notorious for it's short light and the dimwits that block traffic when they get caught out when the light changes. This morning there's a MA SP cruiser sitting at the light on my side of the road, just off to the right. It's highly likely that the above description of this intersection is THE WHOLE reason he's there. The light goes green and about 10 or so cars make it through before it starts to jam up... I'm second in line. The guy in front of me goes... It was a little dicey, but he got lucky when enough of the mess cleared and he just BARELY made it in. Light turned yellow right as he went.

I pop the bike in neutral as soon as the traffic started to back up (there was no way I was getting through) As the light turns from yellow to red, the suit behind me lays on the horn and gives me the "what the fuck hands." I very casually turn around in my seat to see what's what and he gives me the one-handed "ah, fuck you" air swat and then IMMEDIATELY starts TEARING through his briefcase... very angrily rips out his tie and proceeds to put it on... ranting and raving the whole time. Looking back up at me every now and then for another one-handed "ah, fuck you" air swat. It was one of the funniest displays I've seen in a while. I glance over at the trooper and casually give him the "what the fuck hands" and he can barely conceal his smile. Sometimes I second-guess my decision to ride a motorcycle on the street.

The lady in question wound up next to me at a light in Cambridge... heading onto Soldier's Field... 4 lanes, all jammed up. She made a 3-lane super-squirrel move across my back wheel to end up where she was. Nobody's moving and she starts beeping and doing the two-handed "shoo fly" gesture... repeatedly. Beep, shoo fly... beep, SHOO FLY... BEEEEEEEEEP, SHOO FLY. I started doing it with her so that MAYBE she might see how ridiculous it is. Nope. I think she thought I was one of her peeps.
I need a vacation.

when i used to commute on a bike daily in FL i saw shit like that all the time. i was once next to an elderly women at train crossing waiting for a large slow moving frieght train to go by. we were the first two vehicals in line. all of a sudden she starts honking her horn. is she honking at me?? no she is looking at the train. she can't actually be honking at the train??? holy shit, she is!! cue almost falling off the bike laughing. i had to put my kick stand down. eventually the train honked back...it was much louder. she just kept right on the horn as the whole mile and a half of frieght cars rolled by.

Used to be, until our seperation in mid 2002, and official divorce in late 2003. Since 2004, I've been in a long term relationship with a great lady and mother of a son and a daughter, in addition to my own daughter. That scenario was one positive thing that popped into my head when someone announced the undercover motorcycle cops were patroling the highway in NH. It's only going to be a short time until those idiots who like to put the aggressive moves on bikes do it to some cops and get thier aggressive driving and assaulting a police officer charges.

Its not sexist or racist if its true, and I see ALOT more generally younger women on cell phones driving with seemingly no clue what happening around. Maybe its just a figment of my imagination though. Now off your soap box! :
