held glovesare held gloves really worth the price tag?? i mean A* gp pro gloves are even $70 less than the held phantoms. the held akira gloves are around $220, but they look pretty similar to my motoGP nitrous gloves that i picked up for like $80 shipped. i've had the nitrous for about 2 years now, crashed in them, and they've held up fine so far... what gives?? |

Re: held glovesI like em better than the Pro's. My GP Pro's formed a tear in the left palm. I don't see that happening with the Tech's, the way the palm padding is configured. |

Re: held glovesQuote:
the gp pro's had holes in them in one season (they never touched or slid on the ground) i've worn out a lot of gloves in 28 years, the helds are the best uninsulated gloves iv'e ever worn. |

Re: held glovesI recently had a chance to try out my Held Ninja's on the pavement, they held up amazingly well. Worth every penny! Then again, I got them for $35 because they were the last set Cycles had in stock ![]() I'd day buy whatever glove fits you well, and has quality thick leather in all the important areas. |

Re: held glovesI have Held's and they are worth the money! Pricey to get into but last for years. From the gloves I had in the past, mostly Vanson, wore out after a year or just over a year. The Helds have a ton of life left after 3 years of riding. Since they have lasted this long the cost is completely negated since I was buying a new pair each year. |

Re: held glovesI have a pair of MotoGP Nitrous... The leather they use is not as thick as some others. I'm gonna go for these next. Seem em and they look really solid. Cortech stuff in general is top quality. Held's are too much for me. Cortech Adrenaline Gloves - Motorcycle Superstore |

Re: held glovesTried the RevIt summer gloves last year, very comfortable but literally blew through them in 3months and thats without a crash. tried to contact the company but good luck with that, they have almost no web presence and are entirely unresponsive to email. Went with the MotoGp gloves this year, much better glove. |

Re: held glovesAnything that protects your hands are worth it. I have Held phantoms I like them oK but I really like the Held Galaxy better the phantons replaced the galaxy for held. I got them for 120 and they are great. All the held gloves are great you dont need the phantoms Wookie has the akira that work really well. Also teknic makes very good gloves and you can get hem dirt cheap on ebay or Iron pony motorsports |

Re: held glovesI disagree... more things that just that are important... comfort, durability, fit, and the ability to withstand multiple crashes also matter to me, and that's why helds are superior. |

Re: held glovesI have both a set of Held Phantoms and a set of 06 A* GP Techs. The GP Techs I had for 3 weeks before a turn 6 off track eff up caused me to blow a hole in the palm. I still use them for messing around and doing cone coarses on my pit bike. I like the Phantoms much better. |

Re: held glovesI have Held gloves. I think the model is Steves? They have rivets on the outside portion of the palm. They worked great in a high side in the rain my hand just slid on the rivets. No damage to the gloves just flatter rivets. Price was around $120. |

Re: held glovesI've crash tested my Akiras a few times. The are worth every penny. However, in one case they were done after a two crashes (but how can you complain). Plus, IMO the Akiras give the most feel while still giving good protection. I prefer them to the top level Helds (I forgot the name). I heard a rumor that the Akiras are being discontinued and I might buy another pair just in case. |

Re: held glovesI have some Helds, mine have the rivets in the palm... I think they corrected this after I bought mine by putting more padding behind the rivets and/or going to other materials on the palm... but I really find the rivets are quite uncomfortable riding all day.. ride a few hundred miles and if I've put any pressure on my wrists at all you'll be able to see all the outlines of the rivets in my hand.. No big deal riding like a maniac at the track or something though.. They seem to be invincible though.. 4 years old and they look almost brand new? |
