insurance providers?

Trying to set up insurance for my new bike... What insurance companies do you guys use? What rates do you get? How much coverage would you recommend? I'm not sure where I should start as to who I should go to first, and I want to get it done asap...

All help appreciated

Re: insurance providers?

State Farm. $350 a year for an 07 gixxer 1000, full coverage. I have my cage with them too, without the cage the bike would be a little over $500.

Find a local agent and get your VIN #'s ready, you just might be impressed with the results. I can't find any cheaper insurance.

Re: insurance providers?

Yeah, right now i'm just flipping through the yellow pages calling people near me getting quotes, haha. People don't seem to like the fact that I just got my mc license and that I've only had my massachusetts license since the end of march (I transferred it over from a different state). So far, out of three people, I've gotten one quote, one person getting my info and saying they'll call me back, and one saying sorry, no can do. Forward, march!

Re: insurance providers?

i have a question- my bike insurance doesnt have a medical quote on it since i assumed medical insurance covered any issues relating to that. what exactly does the 10k medical coverage that you mentioned before relate to? Should i ask for medical coverage on my bike insurance too (wondering if others have this...)?

Re: insurance providers?

No, I'm almost positive they overlap; if you have health insurance you don't need medical on your bike insurance.

Re: insurance providers?

by the way, how do you have state farm? I went to the state farm website to try and find someone to call but when I tried to find an agent it said "we do not actively market in massachusetts" or something like that...

Yeah, I looked at their website and got the same result as I got at state farms. "sorry, we don't offer service to your area."

Re: insurance providers?

just transfered over to the new R6 a couple weeks ago and it's $177 per year (it was $158 for the F3). I'm going to call today to add collision and see how much it goes up by.

I got quoted $265 for the same coverage by AAA for the R6.
