Vee Dubb Motorcycle???

If nothing else it says to me that some forward thinkers believe the market for motorcycles will INCREASE as fuel costs continue to rise....

That seems like a logical assumption to me as well...

The prototype shown is a pretty good looking bike.

It looks cool, just like their cars. I wonder if, like their cars, it'll die 3 years after you buy it off a showroom floor.

Had 3 friends with 2003+ jettas that shit the bed or cost them 2-3k every year or so. I won't touch VW.

They'll need to perfect an exhaust to mimic the sound of a 70's beetle. Great looking bike.

Then people that shouldn't be riding in the first place will crash and die, thus lowering the demand for fuel.

I'd say its a win win either way.

That's some bullshit right there. I bought my 2003 GTI new a little over 5 years ago now and so far have a bit over 110,000 miles on it. I've only replaced tires, 1 clutch, timing belt, plugs & wires, and the coil packs and it's still running strong.

I'm not sure what your friends did to their VWs, but I'd be willing to bet that they didn't leave them stock. You certainly can't use the excuse that your friends' cars died as a result of driving them hard because just about every time I get behind the wheel of my car I abuse the hell out of it.

I can't wait to see the GX-3

Same here. Pre-2000 (Mark 3) VWs seemed to be pretty good overall, my VR6 GTi was fine for years. Once they started cranking them out in Brazil the problems seemed to really begin. It's a shame too because the cars are fun to drive, and have a really high level fit and finish (minus the overall reliability).

My Audi 2.0t had fuel pump & cam problems, but it was all fixed under warranty.

They are not reliable like Japanese cars, but they are not shitty like American cars.

This Audi is my first car with major problems, and my first non-Japanese car. I'll just say that I wasn't surprised. Either way I like it more than my Honda, Acura, & Yota.
