Just stick with a steel rear, but go -1/+2 gearing & a speedohealer

-1 is plenty unless you feel the need to be in the power band in the top gear while cruising the highway.

i was suggesting the gearings change over a 520 kit.

rob's right though, you wont really NEED to change the gearing though

Re: +2 sprockets in the back...

my bike has -1 in front and +2 inback as well...I don't really like it though, I bought a 15t front to put back on hopefully so it is just +2 in the rear.

i just wouldnt recommend doing a 520 kit on a street only bike. the aluminum sprockets arent really worth it

ya I'd be interested in how they hold up...in motocross afam sprockets have held up alot better than most others for me anyway.

Re: +2 sprockets in the back...

how does aluminum rear compare with a hard anodized aluminum rear?

I had a straight aluminum rear on my old bike and never had a problem or saw any wear.

-1 front is about the same as +2.7 rear.
I went -1 front for this season, but I also ditched the 190/50 for a 190/55 (higher profile, was like subtracting a tooth from the rear sprocket) So next spring when I give it new chain and sprockets, gonna stick with -1 front and go +1 rear to compensate for the 190/55

All done with 50 series tires
the 55 is where it's at

both good points

if i get some spare $ im gonna go down one in the front of my r6 for the street
