SV650s riders unite!

Just bought myself an 08 SV650s from Billerica Motorsports. I was wondering who in the area has an SV with a slip-on exhaust. I'm looking to put something on that isn't too loud but want to hear them in person. Let me know what you got!

Re: SV650s riders unite!

You can ghetto mod the stock can, it sounds as good as any aftermarket.

Check the svrider.com forums, lots of people there have done it and there's a sticky or at least there used to be.

I did mine when I had an SV. Takes 15 minutes, it's not loud but just lets a little more rumble through. Try it before you spend the dough.

Re: SV650s riders unite!

I got a beat up Micron from SVRacer that I reconditioned. Sounds great, not too loud. I also had a Viper slip on for a while (shorty), and it was pretty damn loud.

My holeshot is borderline obnoxious, so you might want to look elsewhere. My buddy has a Leo Vince and it sounds great without being obnoxious.

Re: SV650s riders unite!

My holeshot really is obnoxious if I am not wearing ear plugs and I pin it (kind of necessary with the SV to get it to move). I don't mind some nice sound (I'm only 24), but it is a bit louder than it really needs to be. The Leo Vince, however, seems to be that perfect balance of looks, sound, and performance without being over the top.

I have a Leo Vince on mine, It's not :naughtloud as long as you are not behind it, High mount. Shouldn't bother you at all as long as you are not following your own bike

I have followed my bike and led my bike. I don't recommend either as both were fairly traumatic experiences.

Re: SV650s riders unite!

Keira has a Yoshimura CF tri oval slip on pipe on her SV and it has a smooth deep tone but is not crazy loud.

Look into those...

This is an SV thread. If we want to use fake Italian sounding words or we want to hang out with girls with mustaches we'll head over to the Ducati thread.

Enjoy your valve adjustment.

as an SV + duc owner i'm gonna point out that possibly the majority of SV owners on this forum have smaller "strips" than your duc

I read the '08s need to cut the pipe it's not a true slip on. Correct?

Re: SV650s riders unite!

i think all SVs need to cut the pipe.

i'm not sure how that'd make it not a true slip-on?
