Alarm Systems....................................

I am anticipating the aRRival of my new toy (CBR600RR) in a few+ weeks and was wondering if any of you guyz have any knowledge of or could suggest a good alarm system for my bike.

I am more concerned about quality and effectiveness than cost.

Also, what is the best U-Lock out there.

Do I seem paranoid? After I have had one bike stolen I guess I am paranoid a little.

I am not a big proponent of alarms but if you want a good disk lock go for the kryptonite disc lock.............just don't forget to take it off before driving away.....warped rotor at a minimum!

I have the XENA disc lock/alarm
its a heavy duty disc lock that has a built in motion sensor . If the haldlebars are jiggled a bit the 110db sirene goes off. resets itself in a minute or so. Kewl part is if you forget to take it off and start the bike the engine vibration sets off the alarm reminding you to take it off. I think it was around $60 or so.

Bottom line is that if someone wants the bike bad enough they will take it, But anything you can do to discourage it is better than nothing.

I think you should get a a alarm system that is really abstract and loud . . . cause how many times do you walk by a car with the alarm off and actually look at it . . . people are use to hearing the old regular alarms now and don't even care about it . . . . I suggest getting mounted strobe lights that can be bought off ebay into the headlights and attach it to when the alarm goes off . . that would really scare the shit outta someone if they touched your bike . . especially if they think its a cop . . A cop siren for the alarm would work too . . IMO
