I get anywhere from 50-70 on my 500. The 70 might be that I drive like a pansy 50% of the time

Re: EMM-PEE-GEE'S!!!

I did a putt putt ride a couple weeks ago on the 06 R1 and got 52mpg.
Most of the time when I check it though it's around 42-44

The KTM Motard is all over the place, I've gotten as low as 40 mpg with it and I've gotten as good as 85mpg with it. It's usually around 60-65 and I'm always comfortable traveling 100-110 miles with just under a 2 gallon tank

Re: EMM-PEE-GEE'S!!!

Last tank on my SV650S 68mpg....

Used to get 82+ on my Ninja 250, but 68 isn't bad. I'm not a spirited rider, but even my track day didn't really impact it, I think that tank was 58 or 62...

Re: EMM-PEE-GEE'S!!!

Wow. From the responses here, those SV's seem to do very well. My old EX500 got 200 miles out of a tnk, and I miss that. Can one normally get 200 miles out of an SV650 with a full tank? Just curious. I wish more bikes had 200+ mile ranges.

Re: EMM-PEE-GEE'S!!!

I usually fill at 200, but my light doesn't flash til just over. I don't know how much this matters, but weight may play a part in mpg too....I know the aforementioned Ninja 250 got around 60 with Rob on it and over 80 with me. Different riding styles shouldn't make that much difference...

Re: EMM-PEE-GEE'S!!!

riding style definitely has a lot to do with it....on the street with my 05 R6 I get like mid 40's, but on the track with an (almost) identical bike, geared -1/+4 I get like 16mpg. even before I geared it

which means i use like a gallon of gas every time I go out hah

Re: EMM-PEE-GEE'S!!!

True that. I think most can 2nd that even when comparing using a tank during aggressive street riding vs. just cruising.

Just on my bike i've seen a range from tank 2 tank from 30mpg - 42mpg

Am I doing something wrong?!?!?! Most I ever got on my 250 was 72. On my 650R, I get about 55. when I'm riding hard, 42.

edit: nevermind, I'm fat

Fawk, +4? Mine is -1/+2 and I wasn't sure if that was overkill or not!

slightly off topic but:

Is that typical 600 class gearing for up there?

i can't really vouch for other bikes since the only one i've ever raced was my R6....but yea thats probably ballpark. I used to have -1/+2 but I was bouncing between 2nd and 3rd gear a lot...now I can just carry 3rd around where I was shifting and it keeps it up in the powerband. I tach out sometimes over the hill out of T6 and at the end of the back straight going into T3 but not too often.

PM me if you want

KLR650

High 50's to mid 60's.

Best tank to reserve was 277 miles. I never top it off since it sloshes out on my road.

Re: EMM-PEE-GEE'S!!!

My 06 Ninja 650R averaged between 45-50. 50+ when I was easy on it.

My 06 GSXR-600 is averaging 35. Akra slip-on and custom map, stock gearing.
If I got super easy on it, I can squeeze 40+ out of it.

Our 08 Harley FLHTP with the 108ci twin averages about 33 mpg.
