Trackday - ur doing it wrongz.

Lesson to be learned here boys and girls...
Ducati Monster Forum | you guys wanna see something really f*cked up?

Now this guy that was riding was there for the first time, no let me rephrase that, his first time ever on a track. He knew he had the fastest bike at the track and had issues with people on Monster 600's passing him. So he thought all of a sudden he's going to be Stoner. Well this is the end result.

Ouch........stock fairings too.
One Desmosedici left or right side panel alone = $3500.00 He's prolly pushing $10k in damage there.

yes i did and to me that just shows even more how much the guy really doesnt care what it costs....

if the bike is that much a prized posesion, then who in their right minds would loan it out...

me in my situation at any point in my life would only buy that bike to sit in my living room knowing that 50 years from now that bike is gonna be very valuable.

other than that its just a bike.

we get all worked up over cost and whatnot, these things are made to be ridden and crashing is also part of the experience... more so with a bike with 200 hp designed to be a gp bike with headlights...

am i wrong?

I said the same thing about my S4Rs when I bought it. I said it would sit in my living room and appreciate.

THEN, I just had to take it to one trackday...then another, then Laguna in the rain and then it had 15,--- miles on it. So much for that...all the while I had a track bike and a dedicated street bike.

Bikes are made to be ridden, fuck it...ride 'em till the wheels fall off or you run out of money.

Kudos for the guy being cool enough to loan it out and kudos to the rider for having the balls to show up at his first trackday on a Desmo.

Just my 2 cents.

You're not wrong, but that guy should have borrowed an SV or something else for his first trackday.
Or ridden his own fucking bike for that matter

Not just any Ducati, a Desmosedici......

And everyone said an R1 was a bad idea for a first time at the track. Seems like a great idea compared to a bike making over 200hp and costing $70k+.

Re: Trackday - ur doing it wrongz.

Dude if someone handed me the keys I'd flog the crap outta that thing. I spent 5 hours over two days beating the bag outta 1098R's that I didn't own either. Nothing wrong with that!

Point is jabroni took a D16RR out for his FIRST trackday, a borrowed one, and then was all pissy when he was getting beat by slower bikes, rode over his head, and piled it.

HA HA HA!! I laugh at thee.

Re: Trackday - ur doing it wrongz.

At least it was just bodywork. Can you imagine if the bike flipped?

I saw one of these in my local dealership and I have to say that next to you're run of the mill motorcycles, this thing was truly something special. I know it's just a motorcycle in the end, but if you have any appreciation for industrial design, engineering, or even just style, then this bike will impress.
