Friggin MA RMV

I need to change my address...

They have an online form... and it's BROKEN!

It keeps setting my year of birth to 00 no matter how I type it in.

So now I will listen to their propaganda on the speakerphone all morning waiting to talk to someone!

I hear you. I am trying to get a title for my 1986 ninja and am having a hard time. I have the RI title, but RI doesn't issue new titles for bikes over 10 years, so now they want the previous owners registration, which I don't have (neither does the old owner). I must say the lines are very short in MA though. RI used to be a whole day affair.

Yes I'm going to let my insurance agent do that for me.

With my car he got the title changed over in like 2 days and then for $10 he got someone else to wait in line at the registry so I could go back to work. I'm taking the NH title for my bike over in an hour or so.

I hate that friggin' propaganda, "Driving in a privilege, not a right..."

Let's all take our plates off our cars and bikes and throw them at the Registry, then no one will have to worry about it....

Mass sux

Ever try registering a boat trailer that you got somewhere cheap(like the town dump), fixed it up, and try to register it but you don't have a stinkin' title? For a freakin' 16' single axle boat trailer that'll travel no more than 2 miles to the water??????

Fucken hate Mass Government. They suck, suck, suck.

I went through this battle last year while registering a boat given to me (needed work) from an out of state pal who also had no title for it. Unbelievable.

Theft protection laws are good and valid, but not when they go so far as to prevent legitimate transactions entirely.

Ahh... shutup Gimp.

I figure minimum 2 hours to go visit the RMV. Even if you work at McDonald's you lose more money than paying a courier.

Besides... my blood pressure goes up so much waiting in that frigging line that I'm practically ready to go crazy by the time they call my number.

One more rant... the freaking digicams they use for license pics now. Yes it's nice to get instant pictures, but they still make you wait for your license, unlike NH where they give it to you on the spot! And the last time I went into the RMV, I was stuck in line behind a bunch of 300lb women who treated the thing as if they were getting photographed for Cosmo. They got like 20 pictures each before they were happy! Honey, no photographer is going to make you look good, let alone a freaking registry digicam! At least with the old film cams the operator would tell you to f*ck off if you wanted multiple pics.

Nah, I usually crack up at the people who I'm dealing with. Like they can't be serious about telling me my 10 pages of documention isn't enough to meet the requirements, blah, blah, blah. I mean c'mon, you feel like your starring in a SitCom or something...it's just unbelievable, you gotta laugh, what else can you do?

Just never do any official business when your in a bad mood, just skip it 'til another day.

Incidentally, I called down to Hyannis last Fall b/c someone said they're cool there. That was bad Intel; I got some girl on the phone who said "No way are you getting that boat registered here in Mass". So I rode up to the big city and went to downtown office and explained everything to the duty manager, who somehow was in a good mood that day. Best part was calling back that hag the next day telling her my success... she didn't like being wrong, heh, heh. You could just tell it was eating her up that I got what I wanted. And no broken hand/raw knuckles to boot!

Yup, happened to me when I picked up a pair of jetski's... I had to get loud and raise my voice because the clerk contradicted what she had told me mere minutes earlier...

Although I do have to say that they are getting better. If you go there 1st thing in the morning, you should be fine...
