I seriously don't get whats up with the SV - v twin sound thingy , I heard the thing idle and it sounded normal. I personnally prefer the low rumble of a V4 like my dad's magna though , but thats a personally preference. I dunno what an inline four sounds like tho , probably like a acura integra or something ? Currently I have a single cylinder and it sounds like crap

You havent heard an SV with a nice exhaust then. You want low rumble then the V-twin can give ya that. Of coarse if all ya want is noise then get a Harley (V-twin).

for me, it's less about the sound, and more about the engine response.

or maybe i should say it's the *lack* of sound... the sound of an engine at 14,500 rpms going 32mph.

Go the SV650 - get an S if you want a little more agressive bike.

I just bought an '01 SV650S for 4500 with 3600 miles on it, 2 years extended warranty left, and absolutely perfect condition.

Come up to the race track this weekend. You will hear many variations of highly tuned sport twins (used in anger of course). There's a reason why the call them Thunderbikes.

In my opinion the only thing sweeter sounding than a highly tuned italian twin (aprilia or other make) is the sound of a Ferrari V-12 used in anger.

I'm not talking about the "cow farting into a bucket" sound of a harley.

Trust me, based on my ride last week with JC and stoinky, it doesn't matter what kind of bike you ride, there are lots of riders in this group who you won't be able to keep up with until you've got a few years at least of riding under you. Trying to do so will probably get you deaded real quick.

On the other hand, as they showed me last tuesday, you don't have to keep up with everybody to ride in a group. The leaders may lose you in the twisties, but they'll wait for you at the stops and turns. Real stand up guys, these NESR folks

Hey! I know what yor concern is. You're worried that the SV is NOT sporty enough for you. Le tme tell you though> BretSV650 and I went down to CT over th eweekend to ride th etwisteis with about 20 guys from ODFU - nohting but Gixxers, R1's, R6's and TLR's. We kept up wihtout a problem. Yeah, if you want straigt line top speed, go tfor a 9R, but if you want an all around bike that will dust almost anyone in the twisites, the SV can't be beat for that amount of money. make no mistake. This is a full blown sportbike - minus a fairing.

yep deathmetal you nailed it right on the head , I was kinda worried about it not being sporty enough , but really I wanted to ride some wheelies and stuff like that (Of course in a parking lot . . ) , but i chose the sv in the end , so its all good
