    Doc's Shop. VT MOTORCYCLE S.P.A.

For those not in the know I have been thinking about opening a motorcycle storage/garage/club.

I am looking to move forward on this and I think I have decided on this name.

    Doc's Shop. VT MOTORCYCLE S.P.A.

    SPA=
    Storage
    Privateer Paddock/Pit
    Assitance

    What do you think?

If you give me the storage space I desperately need and cause me to buy another bike I'm going to kick your ass...I think the name works though.

I think it's a little long. It's like two names in one. You could use "Doc's Shop" as the name and then maybe "a vermont motorcycle spa" as your tagline underneath?

The other thing is, I know you want your name in the title, but you could just name it VT Motorcycle Spa and know that people in the know will refer to it as "Doc's shop" or "Doc's place"
That's always a cool thing to have a secondary name that only regulars or locals know it as.

You should pick your favorite 3 or 4 and do a poll.

If you are interested in this becoming a future commercial venture I'd aim to be near the beginning of the phone book listings. My father gets a lot of visits at his sugarhouse in the spring simply because it's one of the first ones listed alphabetically (Chucklin' Sugarworks). Consider it another vote for "Doc's Shop". Then again, maybe you don't want so many phone calls yet...

"Spa" might turn some people off. Like "salon." Just a guess. Dunno.

What about Apr-Sept? So does the $300 option not include access to the tire changer/air compressor? What if I ask nicely?

I like it -- hope it flies!

I was just adding up what I've been spending to equip my detached 2-car garage, things like running elec. service and lighting, air compressor, lift, extra tool boxes & tools, ... and then there's endless fun & games keeping the mice out .. and still no heat ...

You get limited access to the shop space. You should be riding April-September or are you talking long term storage?

This isn't going to be a place you can park your bike and access it everyday. Unless you are a "Partner".

Don't forget to ask about the NESR/Bike night discounts.

Luckily this shop has most of that and if I get my 4 Partners and about 10 bikes for 6 months of storage I should be able to cover everything.

The rest will be a cushion until the rent increases.

I'm thinking routine maintenance during the riding season, like changing tires, brake pads, chain, etc. I understand it's not going to be every day access (haven't ruled out being a partner by the way), but how often would there be access? Once a week? Once a month? Whenever we can sweet talk a partner into letting us in? Just trying to make sure I don't buy more than I need.

That's what I figured, just making sure to not make assumptions. I was gonna ask about an NESR discount, but didn't want to get too greedy. I'll talk to you more tomorrow night

I like it Doc. I think the 'spa' term is kinda humorous and it also makes me think of the famous Spa GP races of yesteryear.

I think the "partner" rate is too low but other than that it looks interesting. Good luck.
