leftover prices??

So with all the these threads popping up about buying leftover bikes,
I started wondering what are the best prices on a leftover 600 (R6, GSXR-600, 600RR, ZX-6r, 675)?

There is a dealer on Ebay that has 08' ZX-6r's for $5,899 and 09's for $6599 Ebay link, seen a few 09' 600rr for $6999.

Anyone seen anything that cheap locally?

2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Ebay "buy it now" of $6999. But it's in Wisconsin, his 08' 6r's are only $5899!

Re: leftover prices??

Don't get the 08 zx6r, it's slow for a 600. The 09 on the other hand pulls like a 750 comparatively.

Also, I have seen 08 zx10r's and CBR 1000rr's for $7k. Buell 1125's are still in the $5-6k range in some places as well.

You could do the jumper mod on the zx6, i personally have one and i have a blast on it. Sure it could pull a little harder but really... Its not bad at all...

Bought my '07 zx6r from Souhegan Valley Motorsports in Amherst, NH and continue going back for great service and excellent prices. Give them a call to see what's going on.

Re: leftover prices??

It's a good bike no doubt, but placed last in all the shootouts and was the only bike to dyno under 100whp, just after one of the best middleweights ever created, the 636, was retired. It handles lighter and is very flickable for sure, but it was a step back, and the 09 is completely different beast altogether winning many shootouts with the Big piston fork, even lighter weight, and the hardest pulling 599cc engine. When you can get an 09 for a couple hundred more a liter bike for a thousand more, it's a no-brainer.

I agree the 09 is a whole new and redesigned beast. I even like the nose better.. The headlights are just plain sexy. I do understand the concern for the under 100whp problem, and agreed it is low. But do the jumper mod and let the exhaust servo be open at high revs, and use the EU maps, and you gain power

There is nearly a 10-hp gap at 14,000 rpm, with the stock bike wheezing out 93.4 ponies to the modified ECU’s 102.7.
Also imagine if you added a Power Commander, you could probably do even better (i imagine gutting the cat and adding at least a slip-on if not full system) you could be above that. After the "trick" aka the jumper mod, you will be right around the other bikes...

Just something i figured i'd point out.

Re: leftover prices??

Crazy price on the 07 10R. Well below invoice there.

I checked Troy City Garage prices, as they seem to like to sell bikes for a few hundred over invoice, but their prices probably haven't been updated in awhile.

Would have been worth the drive even for me, seeing as in when I bought my bike in 07 they would have made about $275 bucks on it.

Troy City is sleezy... If you believe you can buy a bike there for the price posted online, then I have a bridge for sale... cheap.

It's a game. The price of the bike is low. They bang you for crazy inflated freight and prep, and likely a couple other inflated charges... They make over a grand on every bike that goes out the door. As they rightfully should. They just slime there way there by making you think that they're giving bikes away with their unusually low online pricing.

Re: leftover prices??

To answer the OPs question:

Here's the reality for this season concerning new bikes...

THERE ARE TECHNICALLY NO LEFTOVERS.

Not in the traditional sense. Most of the japanese manufacturers are not importing any 2010 models. Especially sport bikes. Therefor there are no leftover machines because there is nothing to replace the 2009 models that dealers have in stock. Since there will be no 2010 inventory available, there is absolutely no need for dealers to blow out 2009 inventory. There are also very few rebates available on current model sport bikes. Since the manufacturers are not shoving new inventory into the country that necessitates them moving the current stuff quickly.

It doesn't mean that you can't get a good deal on a bike. But there will be no winter "fire sales" to make way for the new model before the leftover machine significantly devalues.

That's why I posted about the $1000 rebate on CBR600s the other day. It's a huge rebate, and pretty much the only big sportbike rebate available from anyone right now.

Re: leftover prices??

Didn't know that about troy city. I've never talked to them let alone done business with them. Their prices make sense though, sell it cheap and sell more of it...till you mention they nickle and dime ya on other crap.

my shop in the end only made about 8 bills on my 1k. I was happy.

When I bought my 01 gixxer 750 the shop only made about 400 bucks on the sale. Other guys that worked there told me I caught the owner on a really good day. Score.

FYI, word around the rumor mill is Kawi is proactively attempting to set up 2010 Z1000 specific demo rides at various bike events around the country this year, probably similar to Ducati's HyperTruck. So if you're really interested in trading up, that'd be your best bet to try one.

On '08s... And there are not any left. Dealers may have a very few scattered ones left kicking around their inventory... But they're tough to find at this point. All inventory should be 2009 at this point.

Now, with that being said... I just posted some clearance pricing on 2009 R1s and R6s... $1200 off R1s and $1000 off R6s. There is also still a $1000 rebate, from Honda, on 2009 CBR600RRs.

So, like I said above, there are still some VERY good deals out there. Just not the dead giveaway deals that you might have been able to find in the past.
