Good Motorcycle Mechanic near Boston

does anyone know a good motorcycle mechanic near Boston? Either private or dealer, or even just someone in their garage. I've been dicked around by GBM last summer. They're very inattentive and overcharge their services (2.5 hours to put on a handlebar switch?!!?). So, does anyone have any recommendations? i think my bike has a carb vacuum leak. any help?

get the clymer service manual and learn how to do it, trust me if i can pull my whole bike apart and put it all back together in my basement with the help of a couple friends, you can change a hose on your carburetor, and i dont mean that in an asshole way, i am trying to give you the inspiration to try and learn new things!

It's really not that hard to do stuff. Buy yourself a tool set and download your manual online, you'll save boo-koo dollars over going to a dealer.

Also, I'm with hondarider.... If I can take a bike apart, you can as well.

the downside of working on my bike, is that i don't have a garage (as i live in boston). and i don't have any other mode of transportation other than the T (until i get out of school 2011).

Ya working on your own bike is the way to go but not having anywhere to do it makes life difficult.

Re: Good Motorcycle Mechanic near Boston

Working on your own bike is great IF you know hat you are doing..... its not legos... take it apart and put it back together the way you found it is not that hard to do. Diagnosing and correctly solving issues with out creating others is another skill all together. Work on your own bike within your comfort level.

Hondarider102 Vacuum issues can be tricky, and things can appear to be vacuum that are not. Rarely will you find a bad hose as the cause of a stutter or hesitation....
