Got My New Bike

...and I picked it up yesterday afternoon, just in time to enjoy a great weekend! It's an '09 ZX-10R (brand new leftover). Absolutely love the Orange one, had to look around to find one. Here's some pics from today:









So far, in just the first 24 hours I've owned it, I put about 150 miles on it. I'm enjoying getting used to being on such a big bike. First impressions are that this thing is extremely quick, and a bit intimidating in traffic. Definitely demands respect and control from the right wrist. I've wanted a ZX-10R since they were restyled in '08, so happy I'm finally able to have one. Can't wait to get this break-in period (and the first service) over so I can get it on the track and find out how far I can push it.

I'll definitely miss the 650R...it was a fantastic bike, and it was hard to let go of. It meant a lot to me, and had many redeeming qualities. I'll miss the comfort, but I won't miss the budget-bike nature of the components. It's also a helluva lot easier to carry a passenger now...

My bad, DB. I actually would've been open to letting anyone go for a spin on it, it was def a fun track bike. But I'm the only one that'll be riding the Zed. I'm sure New Jackie would let you ride her new SV sometime though...

Is yours a candy plasma blue one? That would've been my next choice if I couldn't find an orange '09. That blue was one of my favorite things about my 650R.
