It was thrown in free with my 81 Honda CM400, with the thought that it might let me sit a little lower. Don't need it anymore... if you can use it or sell it, come pick it up! (Watertown/Belmont/Waltham MA) Otherwise, if I know what kind of bike it goes to, that might make it easier to unload on CL...

Some of those components (the hinge, the little plastic trap door, the chrome trim, the rubber bumpers) remind me of the RD400 I owned for a while (thanks, Ken C.!). I'll bet it's from an early-70s Yamaha.

Pretty much the same, except for the front underside where my seat has three raised ridges, while yours has two.
looks like an rd350 seat.
